A Hidden Gem in Tropical Paradise – Absolute Perfection! From the moment we arrived at Mai Tai Resort, we were transported into a world of tranquility and luxury. Nestled in the lush rainforest of North Queensland, this boutique retreat offers breathtaking views, impeccable service, and an ambiance of pure relaxation. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the incredible hospitality of our host, Andre. From the warmest of welcomes to his wealth of local knowledge, Andre goes above and beyond to ensure every guest has an unforgettable stay. His attention to detail, genuine kindness, and effortless charm make you feel more like a cherished friend than just a visitor. Whether it’s offering personalized recommendations, sharing fascinating stories, or making sure you have everything you need, Andre’s presence is the heart and soul of Mai Tai Resort. The property itself is an oasis of serenity, with beautifully designed Balinese-style villas that are spacious, immaculately clean, and filled with charm. Waking up to the sounds of nature and enjoying a morning coffee on the private terrace was an experience in itself. The pool area, with its breathtaking panoramic views of the Daintree Rainforest and Coral Sea, is the perfect place to unwind after a day of adventure. If you’re looking for an intimate, peaceful escape away from the crowds, Mai Tai Resort is an absolute must-visit. And with Andre’s exceptional hospitality, your stay will be nothing short of magical.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend – we can’t wait to return!
That we had to leave?
Andre was a great host, the bailanese style was nice and the morning breakfast on the balcony with views of the rainforest and mountains was fantastic.
The Mai Tai Resort made us feel like we were overseas. The room was beautiful, and the four posted bed . Wow. With a table and chairs outside, we got to be amongst the rainforest with the most amazing view.A beautiful continental breakfast and amazing local fruit is available with once again a spectacular morning view.Very relaxing 3 nights, wished we booked for longer. The host was very welcoming and enjoyed his company with an afternoon wine. The also can help with booking tours. So happy we found this place ?
Magical location, nestled in the hills of the Daintree, though near enough by car or taxi to Port Douglas and Mossman. André, the owner, is a wonderful human being, discreet, attentive and helpful, and helped us out with local tours and restaurants (highly recommend the Daintree Safari with the amazing Nicholas Fox!)
Everything about this property was exceptional. Our host Andre was amazing. We loved every moment of our stay. Waking up each morning to a wonderful breakfast and exceptional service/company was amazing. For those looking to feel like they are overseas without leaving the country this place is magical. We loved relaxing by the pool watching the Ulysses and Bird-wing butterflies flying around. The dragonfly landing on the fence. The sunbirds and other bird playing in the trees. The gardens here are beautiful and tropical. The view….oh that view….we could have looked at that view forever. This place captured our hearts and we truely didn’t want to come home. The room itself was gorgeous. The bed was lovely and comfortable. The outdoor shower in our room was a real treat. Anything we needed Andre was happy to help us with and are so grateful for being able to stay at this wonderful resort. Book your stay here and you won’t be disappointed.
There was nothing we didn’t like about this property.
The setting was magical, secluded up in the hills with a gorgeous view down into the valley. Felt like Shangri-la. Everything was so lush and green. Andre was so gracious and attentive. We felt very pampered.
Sad when we had to leave
A good experience or great vacation is made up of both exciting and relaxing activities, fabulous dining, beautiful scenery and comfortable surroundings. Having had the pleasure of staying at Mai Tai with consummate hosts Andre and Anthony we should add to the list the beautiful experience of being in the company of truly wonderful, interesting and generous people, which is a rare thing. We so enjoyed our morning chats, gorgeous dog company and amazing breakfasts. Our hosts were sensitive, kind, intelligent and funny it was really great to make a human connection which is too easily overlooked when booking a holiday. Honestly the warmth and kindness we were shown made us feel relaxed and comfortable. Anthony is fabulously attentive and truly cares about his guests. Andre is super warm and kind with some great stories we were lucky to meet them both.We do hope to stay with them again soon.
A bar would have been dangerously alluring.
Everything! The hosts are amazing and very accomodating. The beds are super comfy.Views are just surreal.
Parking between the cones.
lovely position and setting and friendly hosts. Great rooms and bfast area overlooking region. Good local knowledge
challenging driveway to access and turn into.
Mai Tai is definitely a little piece of paradise. The rooms are so peaceful, in Balinese style and the outlook is magnificent. It’s close to Port Douglas and the amazing Daintree. We loved it. The hosts looked after us with such consideration, we felt extremely pampered.
Everything was perfect.
Absolutely beautiful surrounds and the rooms are fitted out so nicely, very tranquil with each room having its own privacy from inherent guests. Love that it's adults only and couples only also. The hosts Andre and Anthony are so welcoming, friendly and really want you to have a great experience, offering their local knowledge and recommendations.
Nothing. I didn't want to leave!
Quiet, unassuming and in a spectacular location.
There are only 4 rooms (and a separate villa) - 2 look out onto vegetation whilst the other 2 have, I believe, magnificent views down the valley.Try and get one with a view - I don't know if they cost more but they would probably be worth the extra. This is not a complaint, just a comment, our room was fine.
peaceful, feels like being in the rainforest, outside bathroom, the views, the bed, the decor, quiet, the room, our hosts, breakfast…..
Mai Tai resort is everything we hoped for. A peaceful retreat, with killer views and hospitable hosts. Anthony and Andre went out of their ways to make our stay special. We especially appreciated Andre’s helpful tips for our trips up to the Daintree. The room was spacious and well appointed - it lacked for nothing. We’ll definitely be back!
Delicious breakfast in an idyllic setting. Magnificent views. Our hosts, Anthony and Andre were so friendly and a wonderful resource - history of the area and great knowledge of attractions/top spots to visit etc. Most importantly, they were friendly and helpful in all ways, and the rooms and facilities were spotless.A simply wonderful stay and difficult to leave.
This resort is the definition of tranquility, with incredible decoration and surrounds. It is in the perfect location to access a range of activities and sights. The hosts are generous and welcoming, they made us feel comfortable and totally at home. A highlight for me was the delicious and colourful breakfast with exquisite views each morning. I will miss the beautiful Spode plates and morning welcome from their gorgeous dogs!
We loved our stay here-relaxing, beautiful decor, fab view with wonderful hosts. We will be back!
