    Pros +

    • Easy location to the freeway, airport, CBD, supermarket and shops. We appreciated the ability to use our disability parking (NZ) card, we loved all the storage and facilities in and outside our room, and the provision of breakfast every morning.
    • The room had everything required, was clean and nicely set up.
    • The comfort for two elderly people was exceptional.

    Cons -

    • We appreciate that need for safety, however some communication regarding the 2x fire alarms that were attended by the local fire service would have been appreciated, by way of note in our room. Given a member of our group was unable to use the stairs.
    • Should get the lift checked, usually if the doors are closing & you put a limb in the way the sensors react and door opens immediately. I have a frozen shoulder and the lift did not sense my entry so they shut on me and my shoulder :(
    • Liked everything.

Very close to the hospital. Very convenient.

    9TrishaPosted on: 12-14-2017

The staff were extremely friendly, helpful & kind.

2 bathrooms, actual coffee mugs that was a first, patio, all of the kitchen and laundry facilities and layout was great. Option of breakfast.

Stains on linen and mattress', I left a pile of stained protectors and doona on the bed with a note.Kids on the floor above running around, so yeah floor/ceiling definitely not soundproof. Neither are the walls, I could hear the neighbors.

Close to the hospital. What I needed. Rooms were nice . Clean. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Strong smell in some rooms . From drains. Otherwise all very good clean and comfy. Perhaps a little overpriced.

We stayed in the twin studio room. It was clean and felt very much like a hospital room to be honest, especially the bathroom (it was next to the hospital, so maybe it used to be part of it?). The staff were very nice and helpful.

The room felt like a hospital outpatient room - very minimal, the bathroom had the typical hospital showers (open shower with sheet curtain). The drain for the shower is in the middle of the bathroom - which is approx 2 meters away from the shower head, so when you do have a shower the water pools almost the whole bathroom floor including to the toilet. A bit of a slip hazard. Also, given it was a studio room, the fridge was very loud and turns on every hour, the microwave light was very bright (but I just switched this off at the wall).

Good ambience, quiet locality. Level 1 lobby is much better than the partly main reception.

The clearness was poor, very limited option for the breakfast, which was cold and not fresh. Not worth the price

    Close to the hospital

Way over priced and for the price, the breakfast was miniscule.

    9SkyePosted on: 3-23-2025

Very clean, had everything we needed. Fridge, microwave, oven, kettle, blow drier, ect.The sight even has a vending machine with microwave dinners, which was perfect after a long day in the city.

There is nothing to dislike. Everything was as advertised.

    9HayleyPosted on: 3-23-2025

Room is beautiful and clean, bed and pillows very comfortable!

    Nothing, was very pleased

    10HannahmaePosted on: 3-17-2025

late check in very well supported, late check out applied with no fuss

it was great for what was needed

    9RichardPosted on: 3-10-2025

We have stayed there many times over the years and have always been comfortable

Because of covert breakfast is not the same you pick up breakfast and take it to your room and don’t have to change to mingle

    9AlanPosted on: 3-4-2025

Room was neat and tidy. Virtually full kitchenette, with good facilities - which we didn't need for our one night stay, but would well suit someone staying longer.

    10ChereePosted on: 2-26-2025

Great location, clean and accessible to us when we landed after hours.

There was nothing I didn’t like, little pricey for one night stay however apartment lovely.

    Location

Please email me an invoice to [email protected] requested this during checkout and was informed I would be sent. However, I did not get one.

    9LaurenePosted on: 2-23-2025

Reception staff were excellent & nothing was a problem.

Had to use Taxis or walk. Found buses were only on the hour.

    8NataliePosted on: 2-21-2025

    Apartments were lovely.

Check in process was long and drawn out. Because I had 2 apartments booked I had to make multiple different credit card payments. It couldn't be combined in one transaction which was frustrating.

    9AdrianPosted on: 2-16-2025

    Excellent all round

As 'Essence' is next door to 2 major Hospitals & it is used for Patients & Guests we were very surprised that the shower did NOT have a grab rail for safety. These should be installed ASAP to protect from falls.
