Lovely room, good heating, hot water & tea bags near rooms appreciated. Very good dinner. Friendly & helpful hosts.
Pricey but value for money. Would have liked a hot food option at breakfast.
Beautiful accomodation, large rooms and lovely furnishings
We didn’t stay long enough ❤️
We pretty much liked ever thing about our stay at the Star Hotel. The rooms were comfortable, the meals very nice. Loved all the model trains and boats around the place. We had some lovely weather while we stayed there.
Not a big issue really but I hate shower curtains.
Lovely location, friendly great owner and staff. Great that dinner (delicious) and brekky included. A very enjoyable stay.
Dinner meals were above expectation - so glad they were included in the priceThe proprietor Michael was happy to share his knowledge and stories with guests
No lift for top story guests
Location was perfect. Breakfast was good and the evening meal was excellent.
The room and its outlook were excellent. Brealkfast was good and the evening meals very good with a range of options. Both were included in the tariff. Walking around the near deserted township in the evening when all the touists had left was a treat. The township's atmosphere and history were palpable.
The stairs to the upper level where my bedroom was located was a minor challenge for old knees. Also, warning not to arrive early and expect to be given your room.
Set in a beautiful little town the Star Hotel was a perfect get away for us. The rooms and amenities were clean and comfy. The meals were delicious and a great selection of drinks to choose from. As a bonus I had the chance to pat the beautiful golden retrievers Tilly & Rupert. Recommend this place to people who enjoy an historic place to stay.
We liked the simple, honest presentation and feel of the Star hotel. The management were friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere of the place was warm and welcoming. The dinner was lovely and the breakfast was more than adequate. The location was great with beautiful views.
There wasn't anything we didn't like.
I took my mother-in-law there for her 89th birthday .they put a birthday greetings on her door also a candle in her desert .she was so happy with is .
That we could not stay longer . If we have time we would have . I can't find anything that we where unhappy with
very good dinner, nice breakfast, comfortable room and a warm welcome with lots of information about the environment
Loved the location in the centre of township. Got the full ambience of the 'ghost town' Dinner was really good.We were hungry as nothing else was open.
For the price expected cooked options for breakfast not just cereal and toast.
Beautifully decorated hotel, felt like I was part of Walhalla‘s goldmining-history. Great personel, really friendly and accomodating.
Had a great stay thanks to the hospitality of Michael & Russell. The hotel itself is charming inside and out, the room was spacious, clean and homely. With dinner & breakfast included it was a fantastic place to spend a night so as to make the most of my time in Walhalla!
Dinner was very good and and the staff went out of their way to make our experience a special one. An extensive beer and wine list. Food was fresh and very well prepared. Breakfast was a pleasant continental style and well catered for in the self serve way with all you wish to eat. Everything that we required for a comfortable stay was at hand. Complimentary tea and coffee and biscuits at our reach whenever we wished. Mini Bar is well stocked with a variety of wines and beers and snacks at reasonable prices. Everything that is of interest in Walhalla is within close walking distance to the hotel. There is also choice of venues to eat at when not dining in the hotel during the day. The staff were extremely friendly. The photos of the hotel on line are true to the standard of the hotel. It is spotless, and decor is beautiful.
Ideal location for visiting Walhalla. Large room with large comfy bed. Nice evening meal and breakfast. Helpful staff.
