- Location is good as its close to the shops and a beautiful sea view from the room .
- I had a disappointing stay at Hotel Regal Penang due to serious cleanliness issues. - Booking.com shows photos of a restaurant/dining area. However the hotel does not have a restaurant/dining area. - The room had a strong musty and damp smell upon entry. We later discovered the bathroom door frame was covered in mold and webs, which seemed to be the cause. - The chair in the room was in terrible conditionits fabric was ripped off, and it looked like there were dead insects on it. - There was no drinking water provided in the room, which is a basic necessity for any hotel stay. - Some of the front desk staff werent very helpful or polite. - When we requested a room change, we were told the hotel was fully booked. Instead, they offered to send someone to clean the roomsomething that should have been done before guests arrived! Overall, the lack of cleanliness and upkeep made for an uncomfortable experience. Would not recommend unless major improvements are made.
Cons -
- A very bad odour from the whole hotel . You can smell cigarette smoke everywhere even though they have no smoking signs in public spaces . No toiletries provided, no water provided in the rooms . Staff told us that its a budget hotel but prices dont reflect that .
