Newly renovated during the spring of 2023, Hotel Local 101 is an independent hotel quietly tucked away in the heart of downtown Reykjavik, on a charming street made up of classical Icelandic homes. Ideally located, a mere 3-minute walk from the harbor, the modern art museum, shops, cafes, bars and restaurants where the Icelandic local energy can be felt. Hotel Local 101 is the ideal home base for your Reykjavik stay, in a charming historic building all the while being newly renovated with an emphasis on quality basics to optimize the comfort of your stay. The small, hygge, cocooning rooms include full black out curtains, internet access all while being part of a hotel with a quality, locally sourced breakfast. Our concierge service is available to ensure you have the best possible experience.

- Staying at Local 101 was such a nice experience. There is a warmth and personal touch throughout the space that is not found in most hotels. The staff were so kind and helpful and were able to provide great recommendations. We would absolutely return.
- The location
- Rooms are small/basic, but that is expected when you book & look at pic. Room as clean as most places we've stayed. The staff, was friendly, pleasant & would do his best to accommodate requests. We arrived at 8am he was able to get us right in room
Cons -
- It is staffed by utterly slimy, underhanded personnel.
- LOCATION is the big thing, 5 min walk to City Center one way, 5 min walk to the Harbor/Old Harbor the other way. They have video on website that says "complimentary breakfast" when it in fact is not, you either pay each day, unless you include in booking
