In an inner courtyard of an 18th-century mansion, this eco-hotel is located within the walls of St. Jorge's Castle. It features rooms with free Wi-Fi in the historic Alfama neighborhood. All double-glazed rooms at the Castelo feature hardwood floors and a contemporary classic décor. They all have satellite flat-screen TV and a DVD player. The bathroom has a bathtub and robes. During evenings, the Solar’s elegant lounge area with original stone walls is a pleasant place to retreat with a drink from the bar. In the daytime, guests can relax to the sound of splashing water by the courtyard’s fountain. Heritage Solar do Castelo Inn - Alfama is just a 10-minute walk from the the center of Lisbon, with its many restaurants and access to the metro. Pros +
- Beautiful hotel with lots of amenities and helpful staff
- In the heart of a historic district, many restaurants and site within walking distance.
- Great location within the castle walls. More touristy than we thought it would be but makes sense.
Cons -
- It was tough to get a taxi to drive us to the hotel, the road was very, very narrow, and some cars could not make it to the top of the hill where the hotel is located.
- The rooms had mold in them - very visible mold. There is almost no air circulation in the bathroom when you shower so the steam doesnt evaporate for hours. Didnt feel 4-star.

Beautiful hotel with lots of amenities and helpful staff
It was tough to get a taxi to drive us to the hotel, the road was very, very narrow, and some cars could not make it to the top of the hill where the hotel is located.
