Just a 10-minute walk from Florence Cathedral, Hotel Diplomat is in the historic center, near Santa Maria Novella Train Station. Rooms come with free WiFi. The Diplomat offers modern rooms with private bathroom, satellite TV and air conditioning. Some rooms enjoy views of the rooftops of Florence. Guests will also find tea, coffee and cappuccino in their room. Breakfast is served daily in the glass-covered inner courtyard. Guests can also enjoy a cocktail at the Shift Bar. Parking is available at a partner garage. Please ask at reception on arrival if required, no reservation is necessary. - The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location with metro and train station right outside.
- Location is good as it is near the train station and walking distance to nearby points of interest.
- It was clean. Breakfast was good. Sitting area downstairs with free lemon water and snacks. Pet friendly.
Cons -
- The pipe smell but it was bearable.
- The hotel stinks! As soon as I entered the lobby there was this foul and disgusting smell as if there was a drainage issue. The smell persisted for my entire stay. Fortunately, our room is basic which met standards and wasn¿t smelly like the lobby.
- Noisy across from train station. Room was pretty small.
