With a central yet quiet location just 5 minutes' walk from Santa Maria Novella Train Station, Hotel Ginori Al Duomo is set in a 16th-century Renaissance building. It is 492 feet from Florence Cathedral. It offers an outdoor pool, available with an extra cost. Each room at Ginori Al Duomo has a unique and elegant design, some featuring frescoed walls and ceilings, some with wood-beamed ceilings. All air-conditioned, they also feature free Wi-Fi, a TV, kettle and mini-bar. Available international channels include the BBC, France 24, TVE, and PBK. Breakfast is buffet style and includes fresh fruit, pastries and cakes. - The hotel is centrally located. The staff are VERY friendly and helpful. They are more than happy to enthusiastically share recommendations on places to go. Staff here is great! The staff went way out of their way to help with a oddball request we had.
- Reception staff was excellent. They made us feel welcome by being friendly and accommodating.
- The staff accommodated moving us to a different room, for an additional fee.
Cons -
- Being next to the street, it's fairly noisy at times late at night and sometimes early morning.
- The original room that was given to us was a tiny closet that was very unmaintained and the A/C did not work at all. Overall, the hotel is rundown and is decorated in a cobbled together structural items and furniture.
- the hotel did not place us in the room we paid for. we paid for a standard with breakfast included and we?re put in an economy room and had to pay for breakfast.
