With a hillside location in the residential area of Upperthorpe, Russell Scott Backpackers - Sheffield offers rooms with access to a communal kitchen and lounge area. A 24-hour front desk is provided and local shops are within 5 minutes’ walk. A continental breakfast is served at the Russell Scott and free tea and coffee is available to guests throughout the day. 2 cookers and 2 fridges feature in the spacious communal kitchen. Laundry facilities are also available. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms. Each room has a neutral decor and shared bathroom facilities. Male and female only washrooms are also provided. Ruskin Park and Western Park are within one mile of the hostel. Sheffield city center and rail station are less than 10 minutes' drive away. Sheffield University is a 20-minute walk away and Sheffield Botanical Gardens are just 2 miles from the hostel.

Pros +
- Happy with the room, certainly large enough for 2 people.The whole place took me back 20+ years and my student days. It has a student house feel about it.I felt very comfortable, some however might not like the shared facilities (WC, shower & kitchen).
Cons -
- The hostel was fine. It is located on a very steep hill. So probably no very wheel chair friendly but that wasnt an issue for me.
