Newcastle Racecourse and Northumberland Golf Club and located next door to the hotel. If you are looking to explore Newcastle city center, whether it be St James’ Park, Eldon Square, or the Quayside, we are only approximately 8 miles away. Alternatively, there is a bus service operating from outside the hotel, with commutes to the city center taking approximately 15 minutes. Pros +
- Huge bed, nice location. Large car park.
- Rooms were a good size. Nice hot showers. Comfortable beds.
- There are several things to recommend: The staff are polite and friendly The parking is free which is really convenient The wifi is excellent and also free The room was clean The heating worked really well and is easy to switch on
Cons -
- Our party complained about a family near our rooms who shouted and fought all night. They were removed at dawn. I lost sleep and I am over 80 years old. I did expect the reception people would have offered us a free breakfast or other treat. They didn't.
- The carpark is in an awful state. Potholes everywhere. Also We had incredibly noisy guests shouting from 1am until 4am outside our room. Eventually they were removed, there was no pro active apology / offer of a complimentary breakfast etc.
- Nothing really. The room was a little tired in places, and outside the window on top of the porch roof below was a huge pile of cigarette ends & empty cans. I wonder if a person who had the room before me had climbed out there to drink and smoke!
