Crowne Plaza South is located in South-Amsterdam, just a 5-minute walk from station Amsterdam Zuid which connects guests to the city center within 10 minutes. It offers modern design accommodations, fitness facilities and an on-site bar with 2 large sunny outdoor terraces. Each Crowne Plaza room is equipped with a spacious seating area with a flat-screen TV with satellite and pay TV channels. The large bathroom comes with free toiletries, bathrobes and slippers. A Pillow menu is offered for guests to choose their favorite pillow out of 5 options. The hotel offers two great dining option. The first one is De Japanner Zuid, based on the Japanese izakaya: small bars where workers relax after a long working day with beer, sake and delicious food to share before commuting home (often for hours). Open for lunch and dinner. The second one Manhattan Lounge Bar is a wine and cocktail bar with a delicious bistro offering for dinner. The hotel also offers bike rental. Pros +
- The room was incredibly spacious. The bed was comfy & the shower had great pressure. The location was conveniently located near the Metro station with easy access to activities.
- The rooms were lovely and the gowns were a nice touch. Having access to snacks and drinks in the lobby was convenient.
- Clean, quiet, beautiful location and close to metro to be able to get downtown.
Cons -
- My shower had an issue in that a valve was broken and it sprayed water sideways all over the vanity and all of my products there as well as onto the floor. My parents' room's keycard was faulty and their lights kept flickering and going out.
- Somewhat sterile neighborhood - on the plus side, it is quiet, but if you are looking for convenient restaurants or bars that are *not* from the hotel itself, you may have a difficult time. No mini fridge other than minibar, and wifi may not be free
