This historic Inn features a lounge with a fireplace where guests can sit and relax. Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas and free bike rentals are available for use on the Stowe Recreation Path, which is right next to the property. Rooms are either in the main lodge or in the motel overlooking the river. Each room is uniquely decorated with wood furnishings and some rooms have a private bathroom. Ski passes and storage are available. Winter cross-country skiing is accessible via the recreation path. Stowe Mountain Resort is an 8-minute drive from The Riverside. The Helen Day Art Center is 2 miles from the property.

- Staff and service is amazing
- Everyone was so nice and accommodating! The rooms were so clean that I spilled water under the bed and literally there was no dust on the towel I cleaned it up with. I will definitely be back.
- Perfect 2 star hotel. Very clean, very nice staff. Free parking right in front of the room. Comfortable and clean bedding (room 12) Food and restaurants within walking distance. Heat worked well. Ironing board, fridge, hair drier. Great value.
Cons -
- The room is very dated. If you're looking for a place to sleep, then this is it. No desk, free internet worked, but weak signal.
- The rooms are ordinary. Simple. White. A lot of it falls into the wasteland between up to date and retro. It's clean and simple, but it's not sexy.
- Doors are "interior" doors so you see the light (from hallway) coming from under the door, and hear the noise of people coming in late. One of the (shared) bathrooms could have been cleaner (lot of dust in the ceiling fan). Overall quality is still great.
