    Pros +

    • We had the best stay at The Hotel Texan! This 100+ year old hotel has such a homey and quaint feeling the second you walk in the door. The hotel owner, Gareth, was the nicest and most helpful hotel manager we have ever had the pleasure of working with.
    • This is really a hidden gem. The hospitality of the staff, wonderful atmosphere, along with the great food that was prepared for my at 9pm when I walked in the door. I really hated that I had to leave since it felt like visiting a favorite family member.
    • More Museum Than Hotel

    Cons -

    • Nothing at all! It was all wonderful!
    • The place is an absolute dump. TV didn’t work correctly, and the hotel “staff” had no idea how to fix it. The bed sheet should have been converted to rags years ago. Most of the time when I was moving through the property, there was no staff present. Weird, and will never stay there again.
    • We can't control the room temperature in the room. It was a bit warm for us at night, but we keep it cooler because our daughter has asthma. Other than that AMAZING stay :)

The history of the hotel was pretty neat! We enjoyed looking around. It was very quiet and comfortable! The backyard area was very nice, and the little pond was super cute. My kids enjoyed it a lot. Very reasonable price! Open area with snacks coffee drinks and breakfast items 24/7. Also fresh banana nut bread! We really enjoyed our stay & will be back for any softball tournament we have in Brownfield! It's inky a 23 minute drive to the field from where we were. There is also a pizza and ice cream place literally right next door :)

So much history and charm in this place! I absolutely loved how the sign in book is the same style they used nearly 100 years ago! The owner is absolutely charming and the fresh baked bread at breakfast, a cherry on top!

It was the heat of summer in Texas while we stayed there and the building was VERY air conditioned. I think most people would have loved the contrast, but I run cold. ? still a 20/10! ?

A West Texas gem. We drove an hour out of our way to stay here, and it was well worth it! A unique and charming experience, with the kindest staff. An unforgettable little place in the vast expanse of West Texas.
