Short stay here for business and the location is why I had chosen this property. It co-located with the Galleria mall and I could just walk into the mall for all things of need. Traffic going into this location is heavy, however, if you're able to avoid those hours, it's a good location with plenty of shopping and food options even beyond the Galleria. The rooms are spacious and facilities are sufficient. I would stay here again, given a chance.
The renovation of the property shows, and some of the items in the room and their mechanism of operation are dated. Took me some time to figure out the working of the lights, for instance.

room was clean. front desk staff was friendly
bedding was terribly uncomfortable. bar closed before 10p on a Saturday night. valet is overpriced. housekeeping came knocking first thing in the morning, hours before checkout

Location is excellent for activities/events in the Galleria/Uptown area. The staff was friendly & attentive. Clean hotel. This is the 4th year we've stayed here during the HLSR Barbeque Cookoff. We plan to be back next year.
