Room size was great for NYC. Great location too. Staff were helpful and friendly. The bed was super comfy and was the neatest, most crease free bed I've ever seen. Top marks!

Only downside was there wasn't a lounge/communal space to enjoy, other than the front reception area, which was lovely, just not very relaxing. I appreciate in warmer months there is a courtyard and space to the front of the hotel but in the colder months you cannot use.

Our favorite place to stay in NYC! Amazing location, friendly staff and beautiful rooms.

Only negative is it’s a 12 minute walk to the closest subway station but that makes it a quieter neighborhood which is also nice!

This is a charming fabulously located hotel. The bed was amazing. I liked the coffee shop in the lobby. We visited in December, so nothing outside was open

I felt the textiles would have been a bit higher quality [the chart had lost buttons & the curtains old and dirty]. the bathroom was ok but the water was not hot.

great location, beautiful building, loads of character, large rooms, v comfortable beds, great staff.

No tea/coffee making facilities. There is a fabulous coffee bar in hotel but it's v expensive.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful from the outside, very stylish and bohemian. It is well situated in the wonderful Chelsea neighbourhood. Check-in was quick and efficient with helpful and friendly staff, and it was nice that all the communications leading up to the staff offered a variety of extras for your arrival. The room was a lovely size, quite surprising for the area, with a really comfortable bed.

Dogs, everywhere, all the time. I totally understand that this is a pet friendly hotel, and the lovely ground floor coffee shop is very popular with locals. As a traveller without a pet, I was quite put out by constantly trying to avoid dogs, they blocked doors, corridors, the elevator. On rainy days, there was a definite odour of wet dog all across the ground floor. The other issue we experienced in the rooms was regarding noise and temperature. The single pane windows were not well maintained and did not close properly, which meant the room was quite noisy. The in room aircon was so ancient and badly maintained, it sounded like it was going to explode every time it was turned on.

Great location. Love the outdoor bar/dining.

Ridiculously hot on the top (5th) floor, where both of our rooms were. I conveyed this after the first night, and was moved to the 4th floor, which had excellent AC. Also, no coffee! None! For that much money? Just absurd, and as minor as that is, with the other issues, I probably wouldn't stay there again.

The hotel has an open cafe downstairs with coffee and pastries, right beside the reception, which is really just a person on a stool. All very informal. The coffee is first rate and ditto the pastries. The baristas are all friendly and good at remembering people. The local community, including dogs and their owners, are encouraged and that lends a very pleasant atmosphere. All staff are friendly and helpful. Free guest access to the Chelsea Piers swimming pool was ace. Also availability of bicycles and helmets which we used to bike down to Battery Park on the cycle path.

The coffee / breakfast service was not operational for the last few days of our stay. I hope it reverts to normal soon, as it adds to the ambience as well as being extremely good coffee.

Comfortable bed, interesting rooms

Very basic amenities, no space in the hotel to do anything. Elevators were out of action when I arrived. Think it should be made more clear there is no restaurant or formal breakfast offering, this caught out all 3 of my colleagues separately
