Coastal Inn - Ocean City

It was a good location and good for a budget. The pool was nice!

Literally had to purchase ant killer just to have a comfortable stay. It did work but like? If u don’t want to be doing all that I wouldn’t recommend. If you’re on a budget then ants aren’t the worst thing i suppose we still had fun.

the room smells like bleach, the room floor is not clean, sticky Bathroom was not working, we had to use the next-door restaurant because they said they don't have another room, and lots of bugs.

The room was clean. The location was close to the convention center. This is what I was looking for.

The main room has one light fixture. It has 2 lightbulbs. One burned out during my visit making the room dark. I reported this at the front desk and the light bulb was replaced within a couple of hours.

Our room was spotless and freshly bleached when we arrived. The location is great and within walking distance to a lot of restaurants.

No ice machine and you had to pay additional for parking.

The location was nice. Place was pretty clean considering other reviews posted.

I didn't like that when we arrived is the first time I heard about damage deposit. Thought that was included in our booking but that's fine. Another thing is that as soon as we checked in the front desk tried to shorten our trip by one night. Even though I had paid for 4 nights she put on the paper work it was 3 so we had housekeeping knocking on our door on that 3rd day saying check out angrily and I had to go to the office to sort it out which was annoying. You also have to pay 10 dollars a night to park at the hotel which is bs considering we're already paying 100 a night and 100 damage deposit. Also we paid for a quadruple room we have a 2 year old and we had to have him sleep on the bed that was like 5 feet off the ground they had no accommodation for kids.

The pool was nice and clean. The room was clean as well.

Good location. Everything in room was operational. Tv, a/c. Refrigerator all worked well. Room was clean.

Did have small ants coming in around a/c unit.

The location was really good. I mean very close to the boardwalk just two blocks away. It was a much shorter walk than a lot of other places in a centralized area. I didn’t have any issues with getting to the beach comfortably. Every scene thing was in line when it was coming to getting to the beach The property was pretty decent. The parking was a little bit crazy even if you pay for a spot you’re still fighting for a spot. You should have a designated spot for your room if you pay for it also, I think that everything was pretty decent. The pool was OK. It’s an older place. Definitely needs a little TLC but nothing to really complain about for the price compared to the other areas.

A few things I didn’t like about the property was we had to get our key cards for the door redone three times. The tables were extremely wobbly outside the rooms that had single beds were so small that it was pretty hard to get around with your stuff two people and two big suitcases for a week is a little tough. Also I would have to say that the beds, even though they are newer, they are not that comfortable. the pillows are very flat. The AC unit was right above our head, screaming all night never shuts off and it has a hard time keeping up. Sometimes the showerhead is a must replace. I don’t know why in the world they have the showerheads, but they need to be replaced. They’re horrible. They also need to put the curtain rod that lets the curtain go out and around and maybe take a little time to inspect the sinks because our sink had a broken stopper and it was clogged with hair and gunk, not a real good thing, but like I said, not the end of the world there’s a couple little things with the TLC in the room that could’ve been taken care of, but for the most part, it was clean

The Coastal Inn exceeded our expectations which were low due to many poor reviews we read after we were booked. We were pleasantly surprised that everything was as we expected from the pictures and explanation on the site. Reading the bad reviews just made us leery/nervous, and that ended up being for no reason.The staff were excellent! We were there in May 2025 for the Boardwalk Rock Fest. Flight into BWI was delayed, booked rental car company closed, time to get a car from another company, drive 2.5 hours to Ocean City, and didn't get to the hotel until almost 4am. And the front office was closed. Miserable at this point, thankfully there was an emergency phone number on the door. A woman answered quickly, I explained we had reservations and were 3.5 hours late, she confirmed which hotel and said she'd call someone. She called back a minute or two later and said someone was coming, and while still on the phone, a young gentleman was already unlocking the door. For 4am, one might expect a grumpy employee. But he was friendly and cheerful and got us checked in and on our way to our room quickly.We were on the third floor overlooking the back. Walked into our room to inspect and we were very pleased with how clean/spotless it was. Looked like it had been recently painted, also. The room was very clean, we even lifted the mattress to check for bugs or anything and the bed frame and floor underneath was completely clean. Even after walking around in white socks, they were still clean, showing how clean the floor was. We stayed 3 nights, loved that it had a refrigerator and microwave to keep drinks and leftover boardwalk pizza chilled and then heated.Yes, it's an older, beach motel, so it's not fancy. But clean and comfortable and it was a great location for the Rock Fest (reasonable walking distance).

At $302 per night + $10 for parking, that is 3 - 4 times what I'd expect to pay for such a hotel. But, supply & demand for the Boardwalk Rock Fest, it is what it is. All hotels had ridiculous rates.
