My wife and I adored our time at The Ponchartrain Hotel. The hotel itself was fabulous but what really stood out was how friendly and professional the staff were!

Great location
Not well kept, kind of dirty and underwhelming even for a historic hotel

Excellent location in a "safe" neighbourhood right on street-car route. Restaurant and both bars were top-notch, with live jazz some of the best I have ever heard. Pleasant staff. Comfortable bed. Nice view from room.
Public areas (including elevator floor) and guest room not really thoroughly cleaned. Interior "charming" but also bordering on "dingy" in some respects and really needs face-lift. The daily extra 'resort' fee is a rip-off.

Good location, charming decor, great views.
None of our service requests were answered. Each new receptionist takes notes, and then nothing happens. I feel like none of the facilities have been cleaned for ages. Bathroom was nice, but fixtures were falling off. There was trash on the floor in the hallway for all of three days we were there. It clearly used to be a nice place, but it needs to at least be deep cleaned.

The location is excellent, slightly out of the bustling area and easy to get around. The hotel is charming with very large rooms. Rooftop bar and terrace were worth the trek up – gorgeous views.
One key per room proved a little challenging, for two people sharing. Some of the room amenities felt very limited given the price.

Very cute hotel, loved the cafe and restaurant onsite. The room was spacious and comfortable. We had a nice view of the city.
There isn't any room service options or snacks in the room. The elevator was sticky in the morning from the rooftop bar.
