Location.
1857 is a gorgeous hotel. I loved the exposed brick, modern rustic feel, and the location downtown. The rain shower head, and beautiful skylight in my room, added to the hip and natural vibe.

Cons -

A room next to us had a yippy dog that would not stop barking. We complained to the hotel staff and she told us they were pet friendly and it was stated in all the literature and she was extremely rude about it. It was ridiculous.
The rooms don't have microwaves. The community microwave was given to a long term guest. Accommodating long term stays if great, there should be loner microwaves and the community microwave should be available for everyone. Also, there's no elevator.
While we used the white noise machine--the events in the event room next to us were still loud. Paducah class reunion folks (women) were arguing on Sep 7 at reunion. Almost had to go out and shut it down myself until your staff shut it down.

The lady at the front desk was fantastic! Very nice and helpful. We LOVED the location and the hotel is so unique! My son accidentally left his phone and he was kind enough to go and look for it and call us back when she found it.
