Close to every store and walking distance to attractions.

Rooms need to be updated. Refrigerator door broke off, heater had a gas smell coming from it, shower was Scorching hot, and the room was by an alleyway which became extremely loud at night when trying to sleep.

Excellent location, beautiful and comfortable room. They allowed me an early check-in ($40 including breakfast). I would surely return.

1. Communication:I was told twice that they won't clean the room if that was not required 24 h in advance (here in Booking, and when I checked in through a signed form). I was totally ok with that! So, I didn't tidy my room before leaving it (for example, I left my clothes including underwear on the bed). However, while I was having breakfast the room was cleaned… I was surprised to find the personnel in my room when I returned to it, and I said I would appreciate new towels. They forgot to leave me the whole towel set.2. Breakfast is not enough to cover the full time. If you arrive at 10 am, you find a long queue and a few items. Also, 100% plastic silverware is provided.3. Two elevators for a lot of rooms. Don’t be in a rush ;)

The Whitehall Hotel is located just steps from the renowned Michigan Avenue, giving it an excellent location very close to downtown Chicago.The hotel is very easy to access, both by car and public transportation; its location is undoubtedly one of its main assets.As for the facilities, they are "old" but well-maintained and renovated, giving the hotel a vintage touch that contrasts sharply with a modern city like Chicago.The breakfast is simply wonderful: with many options and generous portions. The hotel also has a gym. I used additional services, such as early check-in and laundry service, and both were very useful and helpful; in fact, early check-in should be standard practice in the hotel industry in general.In short, it's an older but well-maintained hotel with an excellent location, and a good option for any tourist visiting Chicago.

The room I stayed in had problems with the lights (I received small electric shocks when trying to turn them on) and with the shower (I couldn't always turn on the tap easily), but aside from these issues, the room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and more than adequate for one person.While the service wasn't bad, it could have been friendlier and more cordial.

I loved the interior and the location, and I’m happy that breakfast is included. I was very pleased with my stay.

Clean and comfortable room

The heater in my room was extremely noisy, it started banging loudly around 4 in the morning. I had to turn it off to be able to go back to sleep

The rooms are nice and clean

The restaurant is downstairs is abit messy. Same breakfast everyday with not much effort.

Staff was prompt and friendly

There's no way to adjust the thermostat in the room and they control the temperature. It was freezing and the fan was continuously running throughout the night
