Hilander Motel

Pros +

• It was quiet.
• The room was large and the heater worked. The lamps were pretty.
• Good price compared to other motels in Mountain Home, Room was worn but clean, bed was comfortable, you get what you pay for. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Cons -

• This hotel is sadly dated, and obviously no monies reinvested into its upkeep. It smelled of mold and mildew, the carpet looked as d as me, and I'm old! I will never use this hotel again.
• The sheets were stained and threadbare, the carpet was filthy, the room smelled like smoke, and a mouse came out to greet me. Good thing I was sitting on the toilet or there would have been another a big mess on the floor.
• TV reception was through antenna with poor picture, recommended upgrade to satellite or cable and charge $5 more a night, nobody would complain (except those that want something for nothing).
