The Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Fairgrounds is located adjacent to the Iowa State Fairgrounds and minutes from downtown Des Moines and the Iowa Events Center, a sports, entertainment, convention and expo complex featuring Wells Fargo Arena, Veterans Memorial Auditorium and Hy-Vee Hall. Visitors will enjoy a wide range of recreational activities in the area. The assortment of restaurants and cocktail lounges in the surrounding vicinity will fulfill all dining needs. Hotel features and amenities include a free continental breakfast, indoor heated pool and hot tub. Business travelers staying at this hotel will welcome the free high-speed Internet access and available copy and fax services. - Price and location. Quiet.
- I liked that there was no carpet in the room.
Cons -
- Staff would NOT provide a receipt scanned my license making me wonder about fraud and charges $100 deposit on my credit card. Yelling back at me and lying to me as he said the owner was not in then he was the owner then owner not in
- Breakfast was hardly aavailable after 8am on Friday. Better on weekends.
- That the hotel was in disarray. The hot tub was boared up. It was very nice at my last stay in December 2024. The breakfast was not very good it was very stale.
