About
Nestled between the International Marketplace and the Ala Wai Canal, Romer House is a love letter to the neighborhood, and the rich artistic culture of O‘ahu. Each of the 179 hotel rooms is a tribute to Waikīkī’s Mid-Century apartment buildings, with most opening to private lanais. Downstairs, an energetic restaurant, 855-ALOHA features island-inspired dishes meant to share over long nights of drinks, while the second-floor pool club offers a relaxed, splash-zone-free, social atmosphere. Romer House Waikiki is the second iteration of the Romer brand with its sister hotel in Hell's Kitchen in New York City. Romer House joins a neighborhood that is already energized, so instead provides the calm but inviting backdrop for the guest to check in, and get out. Romer House Waikiki is committed to providing its guests and associates with a smoke free environment. Smoking tobacco, pipes, vapes, e-cigarets and marijuana is strictly prohibited within the hotel. By booking through this website, you acknowledge that the hotel has installed smoking detection sensors in its rooms. These sensors enable hotel management to respond to smoking events without disrupting your stay. You hereby agree and consent to the use of such sensor in your room and acknowledge and agree that it is 100% privacy compliant and required by the hotel to ensure a smoke-free stay for all guests. By acknowledging the foregoing, you agree to waive any future claims related to the presence of the sensor in a room you may book. Tampering with the sensor is strictly prohibited. Oversize photography by renowned surf photographer Arto Saari greets you at reception – immediately telling the story of community and Hawaiian tradition. The front desk features carved charred wood motifs – indicative of wood carving in traditional Hawaiian culture. The space is modern but approachable– a fresh take on Hawaiian, and specifically Waikiki, culture. Neighborhood cocktail bar and lounge, The Lei Stand, grows its roots in Waikīkī with fresh new digs, beloved old favorites and a celebration of Hawai‘i’s beauty and traditions through modern mixology, snackable bites and tales of aloha and flowers.

The hotel receives positive feedback for its clean, spacious rooms and friendly, accommodating staff, contributing to a comfortable stay. Guests appreciate the excellent location, which is central to shops, restaurants, and attractions, enhancing the overall experience despite some noise concerns. However, there are mentions of inconsistent housekeeping and high parking fees, which could be areas for improvement.

Staff was excellent. So nice. Rooms were cute and beds quite comfortable.
Balcony was off the bathroom and was filled with pigeon feathers. Not a balcony I wanted to hang out in. But it was fine, simply used it to dry my clothes.

Room was spacious, comfortable bed, a good Waikīkī location , the hotel is clean, and staff very friendly
I’m not a real hotel fan in the form of a Marriott format. More a boutique ambience. There really is no personality here. Not throwing out shade, but I do except little bit more life

Situated close to Internation Market Place. Not far from Waikiki Beach and most of the tourist shops and restaurants.Close to bus stops to get to Ala Moana Shopping Centre. We had a 2 bedroom connecting unit as we are a 3 adult family. There was a larger room and a smaller room. Both were well appointed. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were modern and good for a 6ft 2” person as well as normal sized people.Breakfast was a limited menu but the food was decent. The Sando – scrambled egg, cheese and bacon sandwich was delicious and filling (thick bread slices). The staff were helpful and friendly and ready to assist.A note advised housekeeping is done every second day but as we were only staying 3 days, we said not to worry about changing sheets and towels. Saving the environment and all!We did manage to get an early check in and later check out so that was helpful. We did not have a car so cannot comment about parking.
Very minor – the drinks for breakfast were limited to juice, coffee and Hawaiian tea. We were on the second floor and on the side facing the road. It was very noisy. The hotel faces a road that is a one-way street and seems to be used constantly by delivery trucks for local businesses. They would park outside our room and idle their engines. You could also hear people talking (yelling) when leaving nearby clubs or just generally walking around at all hours. We were there from Wed to Fri night. On Friday night there was an event in the room directly below us. So not only could we hear the music, but we could also feel it.Maybe if you stayed at the rear of the building higher up, it might not be as noisy.

Room- clean, comfortable, cozy, quiet. The decor is nice, timeless, minimal. I loved my view.Location- Prime. Easy (reasonably for abled folks) walking distance to beach, Target, Waikīkī Market ✨, and many different restaurants, shopping, entertainment. Staff- Every staff member I encountered was kind, helpful and joyful. I especially appreciate Joseph. He set the bar prior to my arrival. I was thrilled when I met him at the checkin desk. Everyone else met that bar in my experience. I appreciated every “welcome home”, especially as a solo traveler. Aloha.Safety- as a woman who travels solo, I felt safe at the hotel and throughout the Waikīkī area. I walked alone early mornings and in the evenings. I took my usual urban city precautions while traveling touristy areas. I always felt safe. The staff’s presence also lent to my sense of safety. I was greeted every single time I entered or left the hotel by the hotel staff, valet staff outdoors, and bar staff. Those touch points are important to me as a solo traveler.
Room- My only complaint about my room is AC position. I’m a lady of a certain age. I needed the AC to face the bed. The cold air was blowing toward the door and bathroom. I could barely feel the air on the bed. This feedback in no way takes away from my excellent experience. This was but a minor inconvenience during my experience, and I hope it is helpful.Adults Only- the policy changed between the time I booked and my stay. Joseph went above and beyond to ensure I had an excellent experience. I only encountered one child in the lobby on my last day. I don’t think this hotel appeals to families much. It ended up being a non issue.

Great location, nice vibe hotel, comfy rooms.
Only valet, hard to find where to valet at. Cars parked in front of valet zone make it difficult to see if a valet person is there or if you’re even at the hotel entrance.

Real nice hotel. Staff is very friendly. The hotel has an agreement with a resort to use their gym. It is about a 5-10 minute walk for the gym.
We eventually skipped breakfast, because it took to long to get a table.

Super convenient to the beach and shopping locations. Very tidy and nice size rooms. Couldn’t ask for much more.
Would have of liked the pool to be a little bit cooler in the summer heat.
