Resort is very smart, nice rooms and amenities
dining options were limited. Arancinos was great but always fully booked and unfortunately Plumeria was only offering a Christmas $125 buffet (severely overpriced for a buffet in my opinion) or a very reduced à la carte which wasn’t sufficient for a 4 night stay. Given that the hotel is pretty far away from other dining options you had to either eat at the same restaurants over and over or travel into Waikiki which immediately means cost of Ubers each way. I was also very surprised to see that the hotel thought it was acceptable in this age to be keeping Dolphins in very small enclosures for fabricated “dolphin encounters”. It was quite heartbreaking to see these poor animals swimming around such tiny spaces. If they removed this from the hotel grounds there would be so much more space for a second pool and the animals wouldn’t be trapped in such an unacceptable environment.

Fantastic service and facilities. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed. Certainly deserves 5 stars ⭐️Staff were very polite and welcoming. Rooms are gorgeous. Beautiful beach. Spa was very pleasant as well. Breakfast at Plumeria was a cherry on top.
Only regret that I didn’t stay longer

Warm welcome with leis at check in. We had a recently refurbished room on the 3rd floor facing the golf course so it was quiet. The carpet looked new as did all the tiles and flooring in the bathroom and recently painted as well. The size of the King room was pretty large, included mini fridge and coffee maker + kettle. (The mountain facing room worked out well for us, some of the ocean views are right above the circular drive where you valet the car so might be nosier.) Everything in the room was very clean. The property was nice with a pool area, access to the beach, dolphin lagoon where you can watch the dolphins swim around. The gym, sauna & jacuzzi in the locker rooms were well equipped and not crowded when we were there. We didn't eat on property, but there is a little strip mall (about 5 min drive) with a Foodland. Purve donuts (yum) and some casual eateries. Since it was outside of Waikiki, it felt calmer and much less hectic at the Kahala, although the drive into Waikiki was only about 15-20 min. I would definitely recommend staying here for a luxury resort experience.

Location, resort, food amenities, beach
We loved everything but, sadly, dolphins are kept in captivity with very little room to swim.

Beautiful ocean front hotel. Rooms were spacious and clean.
A little far from Waikīkī and shuttles not very convenient to use. You are a little stuck getting the food they provide and it is very expensive.

Pillows not comfortable, but it wasn’t ruined our vocation

Location was great. The hotel needs renovation, carpets in some areas, my room and some public areas is dirty and old, and paint finishes in the bathroom where cracked and woodwork broken. The curtains were falling off the wall in my room. My daughter’s room had recently been renovated, and was in perfect shape, although the who demure of the hotel is old style. I loved the dolphins, but this too is very old style, Sea Worldish, captive. I am not saying they are mistreated, but they should be free. Everything in Hawaii is overpriced, and the tourist pay it all.
Restaurant buffet, again, outdated, old style Hawaiian. Birds were always on the tables, and not much done to discourage it, which I found unsanitary.

Excellent location, comfort, staff friendliness. Amazing and beautiful place. Amazing breakfast.
Extremely expensive. The fine dining restaurant was good but overrated.
