Absolutely NOTHING!!!! This hotel needs to be cited for the unsanitary conditions of their rooms. They also need to be fumigated due to the amount of roaches in the room. None of their appliances work in the room and the cable goes out more than it is on.
Close to shopping centers

Top Tips
- Book Hazlehurst hotels 4-6 weeks ahead for October events like the Jeff Davis County Fair. Prices can surge 20-30% during these periods compared to typical $70-$100 USD nightly rates.
- Expect 12-14% total tax on Hazlehurst room rates, comprising 4% state and 8-10% local lodging taxes. This can add $15 nightly to an $80 USD base rate; use tax-inclusive filters on booking sites.
- Verify Wi-Fi reliability before booking if you need it for remote work. Hazlehurst hotel Wi-Fi typically offers 10-30 Mbps, but speeds can drop below 5 Mbps during storms or peak hours.
- Request step-free access in advance if mobility is a concern. While major chains like Holiday Inn Express offer 80-90% compliance, older motels may require specific requests for ramps or elevators; confirm 2-4 weeks ahead.
- Prepare for summer power instability in Hazlehurst. With average highs of 90-95°F (32-35°C) from June-August, local thunderstorms (2-4 per week) can lead to AC outages lasting 1-3 hours; choose properties with backup generators if available.
- Book at least 3 months in advance for the Big Pig Jig festival in November. Hotel prices can increase by up to 30% and occupancy rates rise significantly during this period.
- Save $15 per person daily by choosing Hazlehurst hotels that include free breakfast, given the limited local dining options.
- Be aware of strict check-in and check-out times, typically 3 PM check-in and 11 AM check-out. Plan your arrival and departure to avoid potential early arrival or late departure fees.
- Consider staying in nearby cities like Dublin or Baxley for a wider range of accommodation options. These cities are within a 30-40 minute drive from Hazlehurst.
- Check for pet policies and associated fees if traveling with animals. Hazlehurst hotels allowing pets may charge $20-$50 USD per night.
- Book Hazlehurst properties 2-3 months early for major events like the Peach Blossom Festival in April. Rates can spike 35-50% and sell out during these periods.
- For a quieter stay, consider hotels 1-2 miles outside Hazlehurst's downtown area on weekends. This can also result in rates typically 15-20% lower than downtown properties.
- Upgrade to a top-floor room (third floor or higher) to enjoy sunrise and sunset views over the Altamaha River. These rooms average 10-15% more. Ask the front desk for specific view descriptions and floor availability during booking.
- Leverage loyalty programs if booking with major hotel chains in Hazlehurst. Booking direct or through their apps can unlock member discounts of 5-12% and perks like late checkout.
- Book Hazlehurst hotels during mid-week (Sunday-Thursday) to potentially save 20-30% on room rates compared to weekend nights.
- Most Hazlehurst hotels are located along US Highway 1, within a 5-minute drive of local restaurants and grocery stores. For added convenience, check for in-room fridges or microwaves and ask if the hotel partners with local delivery services.
- Explore booking directly with independent motels in Hazlehurst to potentially secure better rates or packages not advertised on third-party booking sites.
- Anticipate weekend price hikes; Friday and Saturday night rates can increase by 15-20% due to weekend demand.
- Verify essential amenities directly with smaller, independent hotels. Services like complimentary breakfast or pool access may vary.
- Book directly with smaller Hazlehurst hotels for potential discounts of 5-15% off rates found on online travel agencies.
- Check for hidden resort or parking fees before booking. Some Hazlehurst lodgings add $5-$15 USD nightly for parking; always confirm the total price breakdown.
- Bring cash for smaller Hazlehurst establishments. Some family-run motels prefer cash or charge 2-3% card fees; nearby ATMs may have $3-$5 USD withdrawal fees.
- Ask about seasonal amenities like outdoor pools, which often close from October-April. Confirm AC functionality in summer, as older units may struggle in 90°F+ (32°C+) heat.
- Downtown Hazlehurst lacks 24-hour convenience stores, so pack essentials such as snacks and medications in advance. For unexpected needs, many national chain hotels provide lobby pantries or can assist with local pharmacy details at the front desk.
- Book weekday stays in Hazlehurst at least 2-3 weeks in advance for typical 20-30% savings compared to weekend rates.
- Avoid peak holiday seasons like hunting seasons (especially November) and major local festivals, which can see a 30-40% price surge.
- Look for Hazlehurst hotels offering bundled amenities like free breakfast or shuttle services to local hunting grounds, potentially saving $15-$30 USD per day.
- Hazlehurst hotel Wi-Fi typically offers 10-20 Mbps, sufficient for most remote work tasks. Ask for specifics if higher speeds are needed.
- Verify hotel safety protocols if security is a concern. Some Hazlehurst hotels feature 24/7 security cameras and front desk staff.
- Plan for limited on-site dining options, as most Hazlehurst hotels do not have restaurants. You will need to dine out or bring snacks. Check for in-room microwaves or fridges, or ask about local delivery partnerships if available.
- Standard tipping in Hazlehurst is 15-20% for housekeeping and restaurant service. If you are unfamiliar with US tipping customs, ask the front desk for current guidelines or tip pooling policies.
- Check for eco-friendly hotels with sustainability certifications in Hazlehurst. A few properties practice water conservation, important during dry seasons.
- Carry small bills for convenience, as some local businesses in Hazlehurst prefer cash for small purchases. Ask about tipping or payment protocols at check-in if unsure.
- Leverage hotel loyalty programs for benefits like free nights or discounts, especially if you plan repeat visits to Hazlehurst.
- Book Hazlehurst hotels at least 21 days in advance during Vidalia onion season (April-May). Rates can rise 30-50% within two weeks of peak harvest events.
- Avoid Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) at motel card terminals on US-341. Always select 'charge in USD' to bypass 3-5% fees and inflated exchange rates.
- Confirm step-free access by phone; only 2 of 9 motels (22%) in Hazlehurst offer verified step-free rooms, and online filters may be inaccurate.
- Use the Georgia Power outage map for extended stays; rural outages in Hazlehurst can last 2-5 hours compared to the statewide average of 1.2 hours. Real-time updates are available at georgiapower.com/outages.
- Disregard airport shuttle claims at local Hazlehurst hotels. Hazlehurst lacks commercial air service; advertised shuttles refer to Albany (108 km) or Macon (145 km).
- Request a north-facing, low-traffic side room at I-16 corridor motels. This can reduce night noise by 8-12 dB compared to other rooms.
- Hazlehurst’s municipal water averages 180 ppm hardness; this may affect taste or appliances. Most larger hotels provide complimentary bottled water - ask at check-in if sensitive to water quality.
- Withdraw cash at Hazlehurst First Bank ATMs to avoid $2.50-$3.00 USD out-of-network ATM fees.
- Prioritize properties with Georgia Green Hospitality certification. Three certified lodgings (as of 2023) use native landscaping, cutting outdoor water use by 40% in dry months.
- Avoid booking during the Jeff Davis County Fair (late October). Occupancy hits 95%, and rates surge 40-60% ten days prior; fairground bookings start six months out.
- Confirm Wi-Fi upload speeds if remote working. Typical motel Wi-Fi offers 0.8-1.2 Mbps upload, which may be insufficient for video calls; personal hotspots often outperform.
- Leave your vehicle if walking downtown. Main Street hotels are within 400 m of shops, and sidewalks are continuous, though narrow (average 1.2 m), with low cross-traffic.
