Pros +

  • Location. Balcony & nice room
  • There are not 3 restaurants. There is a market a bar and a restaurant BUT the bar and the restaurant are one! It is VERY NOISY! There is music until 80Pm every night!
  • Location - across the street from many good restaurants and shops. Right on the beach.

Cons -

  • Price was ridiculous. 750 a night and 1,000 a night for zero service. Pool area was dirty. They’re forcing you off the beach chairs an hour before sunset. No makeup removing wipes in bathrooms. No shower hose so you know the giant shower can’t be clean. No bellman at check-in, no valet, ONE check in desk attendant which took forever anytime you needed anything…There was always a line. Room service was decent but you got plastic utensils LOL like what? For 1,000 a night? Come on! Hilton quality going seriously downhill.
  • The receptionist who checked us in at 4:30 was grumpy unfriendly and put off when we asked her questions. The spa is VERY expensive
  • You can’t help nature and being near the water.. there was a small rat that came out after dark near pool/bar area. I think if the lighting was better, would have prevented this . Very dark near pool bar.

We had heard great things about the natural beauty of Marco Island, and absolutely loved our time on the beach. The room was comfortable too, but was standard for any Hilton.

The only thing that's a shame is how commercialised the island is, with these big hotels that cater to a certain type of out-of-state guest that wants to take some pictures of the ocean to show their friends and leave. Also, the little truck/buggie that drives around the beach offering drinks and snacks to everyone was diesel-powered and noise- and smell-wise really wasn't nice to have drive by you while you're trying to enjoy some sun. Finally, the bellhop who both checked us in/out was really rude because we didn't tip him for rolling our few bags over to one of the ground-floor rooms where we stayed. Definitely going to look to stay with a locally-owned place next time.
