The Lago Mar Beach Resort and Club

1. All the staff went overboard to make us welcome. Private Beach was great. The ocean was plenty warm enough to swim in early December. Separate pool for families and adults. Good variety of food with 4 restaurants on site. Short walk to downtown. Live music poolside every afternoon.

We love Lago Mar - it's the only place we stay at in Fort Lauderdale!! It has everything you need- a beautiful pool, beach, restaurants, bars, spas- you name it, it has it! Everyone is super nice and friendly, very professional!! Great location also and if you did need to venture out, it's close to pretty much everything !! And very close to airport! Parking is a plus!!

Everything is good , I love it

All of the amentities at the hotel were awesome. Multiple pools. On site restaurants were good. Huge beach access. Stayed in the executive king suite and it was amazing. Very clean. Hotel looked beautiful. Had an issue at the ice cream stand and the food service manager took care of it.

Prices of the on site food were a little high.

Excellent hotel with a beach front location and ideal for cruise connections.

The location and amenities are great.

Our room initially smelled like cat urine. We were moved to another room and told the building we were in was a higher room type than the other building. We got our parents a room in the main building, and their room and view was much nicer than ours. The staff we worked with were quite rude and even told us that we’d never stayed there before. This was our 3rd visit to the resort. I don’t know that there will be a 4th.

The property is stunning! The grounds are beautiful and so well taken care of. The staff is friendly and welcoming. There are 4 places to get food and drink, all charged to your room so you don’t have to worry about carrying cash or cards. They have a big, gorgeous pool that is fun to hang out in, plus another pool just for adults. They offer towels to use at the pool/beach. There is mini golf, a shuffleboard, pickleball courts, tennis courts, a small playground, hammocks. Free parking!! Our suite was spacious and had a balcony with an ocean view and view of the pool/mini golf/grounds. The sunrise is spectacular! We had a mini fridge and a coffee maker and they supply to coffee pods, Coffeemate and sugar. They have a little laundry room with 2 washers and 3 dryers (soap is $1 from the vending machine). This is an absolute bonus if you don’t want to pack dirty clothes.

I have nothing bad to say about Lago Mar, I adore the place. I do have a few thoughts on things that other people might not like or get into a tizzy about. - Iguanas and lizards are everywhere so don’t be alarmed. They won’t hurt you, bother you, or come near you. Just watch where you step because some of them are tiny.-They charge for beach chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas. While it would be nice if they were included, they are not so be aware! -Food, drink, and supplies can be quite expensive there so it’s best to stock up before you go (snacks, water etc…) -It’s off the beaten track, but that was a bonus for us. You don’t *need* a car but if you want to go sightseeing or shopping it’s better to have one. You can always get a Lyft, Uber or whatever if you don’t have a car. -Every time you buy something at the resort you sign for it and it gets charged to your room. They have a place to enter the tip amount. I know people get outraged about tipping but you really should tip! -The furniture in the rooms is not modern. It’s a quintessential, old school Florida resort. If you want hip and modern, go somewhere else. If you want charming and classic, stay at Lago Mar. They know what they’re doing. -Lago Mar is also a private club, so it got busy on the weekend (with locals especially in the pool area). Go early and get a good spot!

Great amenities, the pool and the access to the private beach was fantastic. The hotel is quite old, but everything was in very good conditions, beds were comfortable, sofa bed was pretty good compared to other hotels. The Promenade Bar next to the pool was great, we didn’t need to go out for lunch, since they had great options for lunch, very good salads and huge sandwiches, for very reasonable prices. Plenty of parking spaces. Everything was really great. Family environment, very appreciated.

Room: We had a 1 bedroom suite with living room, the only thing that I would change is the carpet, looks old. The decor is also outdated. Beach area:Lounge chairs and basic Cabana rentals at the beach were a bit too expensive, the combo for a queen cushioned lounger with cabana was $150 per day, almost nobody rented them, I would recommend them to reduce the price so more guests can rent them and they can sell more. The umbrellas were quite small and the individual lounge chairs didn’t have any cushions so not very attractive to rent.Pool: it was great. But after 5:30pm they don’t have towels since the Tiki closed.

Great hotel, rooms, restaurants, pool, entertainment, services, everything was great. Definitely, I will be coming back.
