This motel in San Luis Obispo features guest rooms with cable TV, HBO and free Wi-Fi. It is a 15-minute walk from California Polytechnic State University. Each room is furnished with a microwave and a refrigerator at the Villa Motel. Coffee facilities are also provided in every room. Motel Villa is just over a mile from the San Luis Obispo Amtrak station. The motel is less than a mile from Route 101 and is close to restaurants.

Pros +
- Location near campus
- Convenient location. Bed was comfy, sheets were clean. Basic amenities commiserate with price. Easy, fast, friendly check-in. Microwave and refrigerator included.
- Super nice owner. Seemed interested in life. Provided me with duct tape to fix my boots!
Cons -
- $25-37 pet charge per day. Lesson learned: 2-night booking...charged premium (2x+) rate forboth nights. If booked separately, the 2nd night would have cost less than half what I was charged. Already checked in when realized, penalty to change reservation
- Room is a little dated and dusty, But good for a one or two night stay.
- Ice machine was broken. Motel should provide ice trays until ice dispenser is fixed. Pricey. (Yet less than any other with a decent rating. The times we live in...and it was a sat nite in july)
