San Diego Marriott La Jolla

We have stayed here many times as this is our second child attending college nearby. It is a fantastic location and you can walk to a great mall that has really good food choices and places to shop.

The a/c did not seem to be working in our room. I got up quite a few times because of how hot it was and kept lowering it and could not understand why the room was not getting cold. I realized the next morning after seeing that the curtain kept getting suctioned to the return that the air was not working because the return was blocked. After searching the area, we found there was a hook for the curtain so it would not suction to the return. When we checked out I mentioned this to the person checking us out and said it would have been helpful to know about the hook when we checked in so we could have had a cooler room. She said she doesn't know about any of the rooms, it would have to come from housekeeping, but it seems like if this is a known issue that they have installed a special hook, that could be in the notes. It was very frustrating and I am not sure if I will stay here again even though my youngest has two more years in SD.

Nothing great about this hotel. If you like a quiet environment, this hotel has it.

The location was calm and good, and easy access to dining and shopping. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The property is not fulfilling the standards of a Marriott Hotel. It is an old property and you can see it clearly, But price is way expensive for that property. We dislike the fact of the poor breakfast quality. It is better to DO NOT offer a package with breakfast when is that quality.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed staying here.

When we walked into hotel it was beautifully presented. I was displeased with the room. It was very dated. Bed felt worn and old. Hallways had very dated carpet/drapes. I would not stay again. Staff was friendly. Location was nice. Hotel needs total overhaul in new upgrades.

Pool and staff

The staff was friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room clean.

The sheer curtains were of two different designs giving the room a haphazard look, like they didn't care to even match curtains. More importantly, only one plug next to the bed worked, and the telephone button to call the front desk wasn't operational. I used my cell to call down.

The hotel looks nice. The staff was professional and attentive. Good variety for breakfast.

The room was small for 4 people. We were very uncomfortable in a tinny room. A family of four shouldn’t be allowed to book a room that doesn’t accommodate everyone. Soundproofing were not good as well. We could hear the loud noises from outside what made it difficult to rest. To park the car was ridiculous expensive. Even though I am a bonvoy member I was charged for 2 days of internet use.
