It was a good place to rest
Clean and bed was comfortable
I've found some Motel 6's old, worn out and ill maintained. This one was not that type. Although there were unpatched mounting holes adjacent to the bathroom sink and were unsightly, the overall condition was very good.

Top Tips
- Reserve your Idaho Falls hotel 30-90 days before peak periods (June-August or local events) for better rates and wider room choice. Event weeks, such as the Melaleuca Freedom Celebration, can book out quickly near major sites like the Idaho Falls Riverwalk.
- Choose hotels close to your plans: stay within 0.5 km (0.3 mi) of Idaho Falls Riverwalk or Museum of Idaho for walkable dining and attractions. For West Yellowstone or Grand Teton access, select properties near US-26/US-20 or I-15.
- Idaho Falls Regional Airport is small and rideshare options may be limited outside standard hours. Confirm if your hotel provides a complimentary shuttle and pre-arrange pickup, especially for late arrivals; most operate 6:00-23:00.
- Book your rental car or park-and-fly option early, as supply is limited in peak seasons. When flying in, ask hotels about long-term parking or park-and-fly packages for airport convenience.
- Most Idaho hotels require a government-issued ID and credit card at check-in; anticipate an incidental hold, usually $15 to $150 per stay. Some properties have a minimum check-in age of 18-21.
- Local taxes and surcharges apply: expect state sales tax plus local lodging, resort, parking, or pet fees. Review the total charges before finalizing your booking.
- If visiting November-March, confirm if your hotel offers snow removal and heated parking. Most chains provide these services, but always ask for specifics like step-free access and safe walking routes in icy conditions.
- Ask about complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi speeds, and business amenities. Many mid-range hotels include a hot breakfast and free Wi-Fi, but business travelers should verify reliable high-speed internet and 24/7 desk service.
- For a quieter stay, request a room away from elevators, ice machines, or parking lots. Top floors are typically quieter; for accessibility, secure a ground-floor or accessible room in advance.
- Families should request cribs or adjoining rooms at booking, as supplies can be limited. Some chains provide complimentary kids’ amenities or breakfast; always confirm rollaway bed fees before arrival.
- Service animals are federally protected by the ADA and are welcome at no charge. Pet fees range from $15 to $75 per stay and size limits may apply, so verify local pet policies and designated outdoor areas before booking.
- Tipping is customary but not mandatory in U.S. hotels: tip bell staff $15 per bag and housekeeping $15 per night if requesting services. Cash is standard, and leave tips daily if fresh towels or linens are needed.
- Idaho Falls is generally safe, but use standard precautions: lock valuables in your room safe and park in well-lit spaces. Downtown may see a small transient population late at night; stay alert.
- Pack layers and sturdy shoes for outdoor activities around Idaho Falls, as weather can change quickly. Sample dishes like local trout or bison and ask hotel staff for favorite restaurants.
- Standard hotel check-in requires photo ID and a card imprint. COVID-19 rules may change, so check the hotel's website for current protocols. Bring prescriptions if needed; local pharmacies are available.
- Contact the front desk or concierge to arrange sunrise tours, fishing trips, or Yellowstone shuttles; many depart 45-60 minutes before dawn. Confirm airport shuttle times and on-site restaurant reservations.
- If arriving November-March, plan for extra travel time due to snow or ice. Ask if the hotel supplies salt, scrapers, or tire chain information and if early check-in can be arranged during bad weather.
- Solo travelers may prefer central, well-reviewed hotels over isolated motels. Use the hotel safe for valuables and check with staff for safe walking routes nearby.
- If your room has issues like cleanliness, noise, or broken AC, notify the front desk promptly. Escalate to a manager if unresolved; staff will usually resolve problems quickly if given the chance.
- Booking directly or through a loyalty program may secure free upgrades, late checkout, or breakfast. Always compare direct rates against online agencies, as direct booking can include waived resort fees or other extras.
- Confirm your shuttle pickup time with the hotel before you land at Idaho Falls Regional Airport. Carry a printed or offline map with the hotel address, as cell service can be unreliable in rural areas.
- For winter visits, rent an all-wheel drive vehicle or review local tire rules. Keep your ID and credit card ready at check-in and expect a $15 incidental hold for most stays.
