I love this location. There are breakfast places like Cracker Barrel very close and a diner. But all kinds of shopping surround this hotel. There is also easy access to DC if that's where you're heading. Check-in was an enjoyable experience.

Top Tips
- Secure your hotel booking in Frederick 2 to 3 months in advance during fall, when rates can rise 25-40% for events like the Frederick Fair and leaf season. This timing lowers your overbooking risk during peak weekends; set alerts for rate changes to maximize savings.
- Include 11-13% extra in your Frederick hotel budget for taxes and fees, as Maryland's 6% state tax plus local additions means a $100 nightly rate totals around $113. Review your booking summary for the full breakdown before finalizing payment.
- Select a downtown Frederick hotel to enjoy historic sites like the National Museum of Civil War Medicine within a 0.5-1 mile walk. Downtown offers high walkability scores (85-90) and crime rates about 20% below the U.S. average, supporting a safer, more pedestrian-friendly stay.
- Check hotel Wi-Fi speeds in advance if working remotely. Most offer 50-100 Mbps, but older downtown buildings can be slower (20-50 Mbps). For more reliable internet, Frederick County public libraries and coworking spaces are available, call ahead to confirm hours.
- Request an accessible room with step-free or ramp access when booking. 80-90% of Frederick hotels provide these, but 30-40% of historic district properties have elevation obstacles. Reserve 1 to 2 weeks ahead and confirm features like visual alarms if needed.
- Save 20-30% by booking hotels Sunday to Thursday in Frederick, as weekend rates spike to $160-$220 due to local events and Washington D.C. visitors. Check hotel loyalty programs for additional midweek discounts.
- Downtown parking averages $15-$25 nightly. Opt for hotels like Courtyard by Marriott West (1.5 miles from downtown) or Holiday Inn Frederick (0.8 miles) for included parking. Confirm availability, as free spots may be limited during large events.
- Minimize noise by requesting upper-floor rooms, especially if your hotel faces Market Street bars. Expect higher volume until 1 AM on Thursday-Saturday, and request earplugs or a white noise machine at check-in if needed.
- Most Frederick hotels do not charge resort fees, so pricing is more transparent than in most major U.S. cities. Always review your booking's taxes and fees section for certainty before finalizing.
- Late-night dining can be limited in downtown Frederick, with most kitchens closing by 10 PM. H Mart's food court stays open until midnight and is only 5 minutes by car from downtown hotels; carry ID if purchasing alcohol.
- Ask hotels about Civil War Trail or Historic Frederick rates. For example, Sleep Inn offers 10% off for Historic Frederick members. Present valid membership at check-in to access these discounts.
- For festivals like the Frederick Festival of the Arts in June, book 2 to 3 months early. Hotel availability drops quickly and rates can climb 40% above normal during major events, so plan extra early for group stays.
- Choosing hotels within a 10-minute walk of Baker Park in downtown Frederick reduces transit costs and gives convenient access to downtown’s festivals and museums. Use map view to verify walking distances before booking.
- Always check your room’s heating type when visiting Frederick in winter. Some older hotels use baseboard heaters which can be less efficient (25-40% higher energy use) and may heat rooms unevenly compared to central HVAC. Contact the property to confirm if heating system details are not listed online.
