Great location to campus. Nice staff. Good breakfast.
We arrived around 11pm and the staff was in the middle of shift change. They were still very friendly and did not rush us because they were trying to complete their shift change. We were able to hang out in the lobby area and watch TV and eat pizza.

Top Tips
- Book your hotel 6-10 weeks in advance for University of Alabama football weekends, because rates often increase and campus-area availability drops rapidly. Explore if your hotel offers game-day packages or themed amenities for a richer local experience.
- Check your hotel’s game-day parking and shuttle details at least 2 weeks before arrival; expect changed routes or fees at campus-area properties on home game days. For accessible transportation, ask specifically about step-free shuttles if needed.
- Select hotels along University Boulevard or downtown for a 0.5-1.0 mile (10-20 minute) walk to Bryant-Denny Stadium and restaurants. Many hotel front desks can recommend well-lit, accessible walking routes or local shuttle services.
- During spring tornado season (March-April), check your hotel’s severe weather procedures, and ask about shelter locations, emergency plans, and onsite generators. Save the property’s emergency contacts upon check-in for extra peace of mind.
- Tuscaloosa tap water is filtered and considered safe for drinking; bring a reusable water bottle and use hotel or campus refill stations. If a temporary advisory occurs, your hotel will post clear guidance.
- Allow 15-25 minutes by taxi, Uber, or hotel shuttle from Tuscaloosa Regional Airport (9-12 miles to downtown). Contact your hotel ahead to book shuttles; most can arrange accessible rides if needed.
- Choose midscale hotel chains offering complimentary hot breakfast, which can save $8-12 per person daily over dining out. Some hotels serve regional favorites, so ask the front desk for local menu details.
- Avoid sending payment by wire or ACH for private rentals during busy weekends. Use trusted hotel websites or major OTAs and always review host ratings to reduce fraud exposure.
- If sustainability is important to you, ask about your hotel’s water-saving and linen reuse programs; most Tuscaloosa hotels share these at check-in or in-room, though formal eco labels are rare.
