Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hilton Garden Inn Monterey

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the hotel restaurant. Pasta and seafood were prepared perfectly. Friendly, efficient servers.Staff gracious and helpful.
Did not like having to self park in a garage. Parking very tight.

The heated salt water pool was perfect,
Didn't like that we had to pay to park the car

Very comfy bed, and quiet.
Paying so much for parking. It would have been nice to have adults only swimming and hot tub hours....lots of kids using the hot tub.

It was more than expected.
No.

Gym was 4 star! Matter of fact, this hotel was listed as a 4 star, should be 3.5 and have stayed at some 4 stars with less. Great hotel.

Very comfortable beds, mini-fridge in rooms
Half of the hotel borders a very noisy highway. Although the hotel is in a fairly isolated location they charge for nightly parking.

The rooms are clean and well kept. The public areas are attractive. Breakfast was good but the breakfast room seemed to be understaffed.
The lack of insulation in the walls and ceiling. Could hear the neighbor upstairs walking around the room, next door neighbors taking a shower and people in the hallways.

Very easy access from the freeway and close to most attractions. It probably would not be a good idea to get a room that faced the freeway due to noise.

Friendly and helpful staff, location and a very good breakfast. For example, I was curious about a certain type of flower used in the landscaping and one desk clerk took a picture of it to send to someone who would know more about it.
They are now charging $10 a day for parking. That was not the case on my previous stay.

Comfortable bed
A bit noisy (close to highways): basic french windows without soundproofing - pay parking lot - impossible to turn a more expensive pool king bedroom into a less expensive double queen - "raw design" of the stairwell (motel-like)

The staff was very friendly.
The pillows were a bit too soft for me, but otherwise no complaints on the hotel.

The hotel was surprisingly nice for a Hilton Inn. It is driving distance from Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey, however it was approximately .8 miles from that area, so still needed to drive to those areas.
