Welcome to the Cardozo Hotel
Free wifi, a location across from the ocean, and stylish smoke-free rooms with an ethnic vibe make this Gloria Estefan-owned hotel a favorite of our guests.
Built in 1939, the Cardozo is in an Art Deco building with distinctive neon sign. The three-story hotel has 43 renovated guestrooms, all with hardwood floors, ceiling fans, terra-cotta stucco or teak walls, and crown molding. Some of the rooms have ocean views. Room décor features African prints and indigenous cultural pieces. One thing you probably want to know is whether the rooms have free wifi, and yes they do. They also have CD stereos, plus flat-screen TVs with VCRs and premium cable with HBO. Deluxe rooms have iPod docking stations. When it's time to go to bed, you'll do so knowing it'll be on plush mattresses and Egyptian-cotton sheets. Some of the beds have mombasa canopies, to really transport you to the tropical. The hotel has a restaurant serving breakfast, plus Italian fare for lunch and dinner. The front desk has discount passes to a nearby fitness center, and VIP passes to local clubs. Valet parking is available for a surcharge.
There'll be color, charm, and Art Deco wherever you look, since the Cardozo is in the heart of the Art Deco Historical District at Ocean Drive and 13th Street. Take a towel from the hotel and stroll across Lummus Park to the waiting turquoise waters of the Atlantic. Chairs and umbrellas, not to mention action-packed jet skis and parasails, are available for rental on the beach. Lincoln Road Mall is a four-block walk.
It isn't often that you get to stay at a hotel owned by a Grammy winner. This one has the beach across the way, plus cool and funky rooms with free wifi.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of the art deco section of south beach Miami. Perfect location to walk to everything. Public garage next to hotel. Restaurant was very good.

This hotel was such a disappointment. It needed to be renovated and aired out. The incense they burned to hide the mold smell was overpowering and at times suffocating. Hated that I had to pay 15 dollars to be a guest at the local crunch gym (that was awesome celebrity sightings!) They did not offer chairs for the beach, and we had to pay 10$ for each chair and umbrella. Parking was also an additional 27 dollars per day. Way overpriced when you take into account all the alla carte fees that apply and no pool. Never again. Better to pay a little extra and get a pool, gym and chairs. ...
