Hotel Guest Reviews of the Best Western Plus Bruntsfield Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Centrally located, minutes away from Princess Street, the hotel is very convenient and comfortable, with all the ambiance of Scotland. The onsite Bistro Brasserie menu and prices are really good quality and value.

Location away from old town centre is preferable during festival season as it is much quieter. Walkable distance to historic centre. Great restaurants close to hotel.
Breakfast was okay but expensive for selection provided. Inclusion of breakfast with room price was not given as an option when booking. Free parking is available but very limited number of spaces for size of hotel.

Park in front and walkable to grass market and city center
No ac and no fitness center

It has a lot of charm and character and the room was very comfortable, large and elegant with a nice bay window. It is located across from a beautiful park You can easily walk to the city center and you are near some nice little cafés and shops. The hotel staff are very nice and efficient. There is complimentary tea and coffee and Scottish shortbread in the lobby and a very nice lounge area ...read more

Location, location, location. This hotel is well located -- only a mile or so from from Princes street and the heart of Edinburgh. Across the street are wonderful parks suitable for a nice walk, and within a couple of blocks are lots of restaurants.
Breakfast in the restaurant could have been better. The first day, there was very little food left on the buffet. Both days the kitchen was slow for hot food orders.

Beautifully renovated older building. Lobby and sitting areas were very inviting and comfortable. Rooms were up to date and comfortable, with nice bathroom, bed, and working Internet. Could open the windows to bring in fresh air. Parking is somewhat limited (about 10 spaces), but each time I went out I found a least one empty space when I returned.

The staff were consistently helpful and went out of their way to answer questions about transportation, restaurants, and local customs regarding weddings. They even helped this first-time female father of the bride write her speech! Excellent restaurant.

This is a beautiful hotel located across the street from a park in a very comfortable neighborhood. We stayed in a king superior room, which was very comfortable. We were there in mid-April, and the weather was very changeable. It was nice to be able to open the windows when the outside temperatures were uncomfortably high. The bathroom was newly remodeled and very well done with both a shower and a spa tub. The staff throughout the hotel were extremely courteous, welcoming, and helpful. They answered our many questions about transportation, local attractions, restaurants, safe neighborhoods, local customs, etc. We were in Edinburgh for a wedding, and several staff helped me with ideas for my father of the bride speech. (I'm female, and this speech was a first for me!) We ate Sunday brunch and several dinners at Bisque, the hotel's restaurant. Both the food and service were excellent. ...read more

Beautiful old building! Lovely location, walking distance to attractions. Park across the street.
Stairs in odd and confusing configuration. Room right next to noisy swinging door
but did not hear it at night.

Very pleased with this hotel. Beautiful building. Lovely location. Reasonable walk (through nice parks)to Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. Staff was not perfect, but certainly good. Wonderful room. Spacious, attractive, clean, comfortable. My seven year old and I were in a very comfortable king bed. There may not have been AC, but with the window open and the table top fan provided in the room, it was no problem. (There was a duct of some kind close to the window, and with the window opened (but not when closed) we could hear some noise, but we like white noise for sleeping and it blended in perfectly with the fan. Not a problem at all.) There was a swinging door outside the room that did sound like someone at our room door every time it was used, but this was not often, and I never noticed it when I was trying to sleep. Appreciated that they had hot chocolate packets with the tea and coffee options in the room (most hotels don't). I would stay here again in a heartbeat. ...read more
