Hotel Guest Reviews of the Unscripted Monterey Bay

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Location - The only ocean front hotel in the area.
Quality of the room = Travelodge with flat screen TV.

The staff is friendly. The lounge and other public spaces are terrific, and the hotel is right on the beach!
Although the room was otherwise clean, the carpet was dirty. My socks quickly became black from walking around the room. Also, Monterey is not a large city, so parking costs ought to be included in the advertised price of the room.

The hotel is directly on the beach. You don't have to cross streets, or find parking. It's absolutely wonderful. Location is also perfect. Right off freeway exit. Only a 10-15 min drive to the Aquarium. Close drive to Starbucks, Resteraunts.
Room itself was very average. The bathroom was extremely small.

We would definately stay here again. It was nice to have direct beach access, but also use the pool and hot tub. Location is really perfect. The hotel Resteraunt was beautiful, as was the lobby and its views.

The lobby view is beautiful. Location is good.
Carpet doesn't feel clean in the room. Bed is old and not comfortable. We had a roll away bed but it's feel dirty and the bed sheet has many many many small holes. And there's no way you can sleep in the roll away bed. You can feel the spring.

On ocean. Staff very friendly.
Not 3.5 stars. Hardly 2 stars. Extremely dirty. Can't say it enough. Carpet was gross. Went to pool and grabbed a dozen towels to cover carpet. Hotel was probably nice in the 50's but has not be updated. Again, the filth of this place will haunt me

Location. Right on the (dog friendly) beach! Also, they offer firewood and s'mores kits for $25 for use at night.
Parking was $20 a day. Rooms were outdated. The way the hotel is situated, your room either faces the beach (awesome) or the freeway (lame).

Not the greatest beach, but the view is amazing.

The helpful staff. Kind and courteous assistance given and requests for room changes made with little fuss.
No tea at morning coffee bar.

The oceanfront setting is the draw, with the sandy beach right outside ocean-facing rooms and glimpses of whales and dolphins in Monterey Bay. Though the elevator can be noisy, the front desk was amenable to changing our room for a more peaceful experience. It will be interesting to see how this hotel evolves now that it is no longer part of the Best Western chain: will it become a true resort, with spa amenities that attract upper-crust customers, or will it continue to be a somewhat old-fashioned, motel-like inn that serves a broad clientele, including families and budget travelers? ...read more

The lobby was beautiful and the staff was friendly
It's right next to the freeway and the beds are the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept in, not to mention the lumpy pillows.
