Hotel Guest Reviews of the Westgate Lakes Resort And Spa

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Great location, if you have a car. 5 minutes from Universal, 10 minutes from Downtown Disney, 15 from Disney Parks. The bathroom was very large, jacuzzi and a big shower, separate toilet. We had our own balcony/porch.
Customer service was terrible. The whole check-in experience was terrible.

The resort itself was decent. They do not keep their guests in mind when designing the rooms. The lights in the room were too dark. The blinds were the old school vertical type, half of them were broken, and were very tough to open and close. Curtains and/or blackout curtains would have been ideal. The TV was decent, small, but it worked. There was no channel guide, which was very frustrating because we had to constantly flip through channels. Also, there was no movie rental option. According to the website you can rent movies in the main lobby, you cannot. Apparently that machine had been removed "weeks ago". We went to the restaurant for breakfast, which according to their commercial we could order a whole bunch of fancy breakfast items, it ended up being a cheap breakfast buffet, with omelet's and any drinks costing extra. The staff all drive around in golf carts, and do not move out of the way of cars, causing traffic to be very slow and jammed up throughout the resort. The staff also had an annoying tendency to walk out into the street right in front of your car, or walk in the middle of the road right in front of your car and not move out of the way. The whole check-in experience was just annoying. I checked in, then instead of handing my the room keys and telling me where to go, they hand them to another staff member, who than walks me over to another desk, then hands keys to the timeshare guy, who than proceeds to ask personal information, and tries to get you to attend this "90-minute" meeting, and tells you all the perks you get if you go to this meeting. After we told him no, he proceeds to try and force it upon us, telling us how much money we could save on park tickets, and we would get a $75 dollar gift card (to the resort) if we went. After we repeatedly told him no, he than gave us the keys and sent us to the front desk, where they finally told us where our room was. Housekeeping came every day, but did not change out any sheets. ...read more

The location was great. Parking available. Very clean, safe environment.
It is really not a hotel for business travelers. They do not provide coffee in the am, the business center is far away from the rooms. I would definitely go back there for pleasure. Not for business.

loved it.

The location was convenient to SeaWorld and other parks.
The facility was run-down and over crowded. It was a struggle to find parking.

The decor is outdated and the toilet didn't work when we checked in. The furniture is very "used." It did have a very nice, large private balcony - the room's saving grace.

This is a timeshare and while that has its perks, you should know that going in. They will try to sign you up for a sales presentation so practice saying no. The property is beautiful and has lots of amenities.
It is a timeshare not a hotel. It was very crowded with families and children and there was always a line of traffic entering the resort. Not a good property if you are a business traveler.

This is a timeshare and would be great for families. The location is good and they have a shuttle that goes to the parks, plenty of pools and a lot of activities.

Need an update. Rooms are very 80s. Parking is horrible. Elevators aren't air conditioned and very slow so it a hot long ride to the 6th floor. Seems like every staff member was on their phone texting.

Nice for the price but I would suggest staying on International Drive.

The price was decent.
I feel I was mislead because this was actually a condo resort, not a hotel. This was not conducive to business travel. It is great if you are traveling with family but it is too large and inconvenient for those traveling on business.

I would recommend the resort to families traveling on a vacation, not for business.
