Hotel Guest Reviews of the W Hotel Barcelona

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Great views of city and sea. Nice size rooms. Great bar at top of hotel. Valet and luggage guys very nice.
Food was okay but not 5 star quality. Breakfast selections were horrible. Waitresses/waiters need to be more attentive. Bartenders/concierge were not attentive Not 5 star quality as overall hotel appearance was not stunning.requirig a bit more cleanliness

Not worth the money spent. Expected more after reading about hotel. Advertised better. Not W quality.

Everything except location.
It's a little bit too far from city center

A typical 5 star hotel with a gorgeous view of ocean.

Absolutely everything. The hotel was incredible! Views and service to die for, Highly recommend.
Nothing to not like!

This was one of the most incredible hotels I have aver stayed at. Walking into our room you gaze to a huge window of a view that can not be described with your bed face right to the view. There where mood lights all over and decor that was leading edge modern and 5 star. When we needed a power converter they where happy to send one up and it was clear that there wasn't anything they would not do for you to make your stay perfect. Located on the Barcelona Beach, if you are a beach lover this is the place for you. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! ...read more

On the water and beach. Near new spectacular hotel. A couple miles from most stores and the main parts of Barcelona. Great pool scene.

Location & views
Seemed a bit worn in places which is unlike the typical W branded hotels elsewhere, but I was told they will undergo renovations after the season.

I always believe in room for improvement and feel that housekeeping can benefit from further cleanliness training. For such a great location and premium product, one would expect the pool to be heated or for a Jacuzzi to be available as well. We enjoyed the location and proximity to beach but felt the hotel didn't do anything special for families +/or children. Other W hotels have been known for a local transportation shuttle type service (complimentary - like in Miami Beach, for exp), but unfortunately not at this location. We would definitely stay here again but would be better prepared next time for the kids activities, etc. ...read more

Ocean view room
Swimming pool was very small. Check in line is way too long. There is no one outside to help with baggages.

The hotel is designed beautifully, and the staff was extremely friendly and helped us with whatever request we had - whether it was to bring a tea kettle to our room or help us with the online checkin to our flight back home.
The glass door of the bathroom (not very private..)! And its location is near the beach, which is fine if that's what you came for, but not so fine if you want to see the main attractions (it's about a 30 minute walk to La Rambla street..).

The hotel is very unique and beautifully designed. The rooms have big windows so you get a nice view of the sea. We were at a low floor (3) and the view was still nice. You could ask for a higher floor for better views, but beware that there is a "rave" floor (~22) so floors that are next to that floor might be noisy. The hotel does have a "cool" vibe to it, with soft techno music playing in the halls and elevator and public spaces, but that didn't seem to bother us even though we traveled with a baby. The hotel supplied us with a crib and were very helpful with every request we had, staff was really amazing. The hotel's major minus is the location - it's in the most southern point of the "Las Ramblas" area, near the beach, so it's a long walk (about 30 minutes) to the main attractions around the La Rambla street. We took taxis to the center and back which wasn't that bad, but being able to walk everywhere would have been better. It's a very nice beach though so if that's what you're looking for in your trip the location is great. Some other problems with the room were the glass door of the bathroom, which makes it not such a private room, and the fact that there's no free wi-fi in the rooms. We got one complimentary bottle of water and there were many other bottles in the room but all cost money. Other than that the rooms were in pretty good condition, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was 30 euros per person, quite expensive. We took it only on our last day, and it was very good, but wouldn't want to spend so much money on it every day. It's a much better idea to get breakfast on the way to the first attraction of the day, or buy food at the nearest "Spar" and it is in the morning. Overall - our stay was good and I would recommend this hotel. If you're aware of the minuses and can live with them it's a great hotel. ...read more

The bed was amazing. Fantastic view. Location great for the beach, a bit of a walk into town. The food was outstanding.
No coffee maker in the rooms, nor an easy way to get coffee to go in the morning.

Pros are the comfort level of the hotel, ease of access to the beach. Very near the cable car ride to Montjuic. Excellent food. The staff was friendly and helpful. I was worried my poor Spanish would be an issue, but the staff spoke English well enough to compensate for my weakness there. Cons are minimal. Long walk into town, but it is a beautiful walk. I didn't use the Spa or the gym, but did see both. They look top notch. ...read more
