Hotel Guest Reviews of the W Hollywood

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Bed, shower
Loud neighboring rooms with parties all night. No response from staff to try to quiet them down.

The room was very nice and to be expected for a W Hotel. There were multiple parties on the floor well into the night, and when I called the front desk to complain, nothing was done.

the location
The customer service at the front desk was very rude.

I understand that because I booked my room at a discounted rate through priceline that it would have a few slight imperfections.  However from the moment we checked in it was clear. The front desk agent even snubbed us in front of a full lobby by stating you will being staying in a room with a wall view.  When we ask what that meant, she laughed and said ¿it means you look at a wall¿. Then when we got up to our room it was missing a clock ipod docking station and the charging suite was broken. What really concerns me is that had I not notice them right away because I needed to charge my phone and ipod that I would have been improperly charged for them by your hotel. And finally the shower barely drained so we needed to turn it off every few seconds otherwise it would flood.  We also went to the restaurant to order desserts and a warm late night beverage only to find the ran out of it. However the server was extremely kind.  I cannot remember the exact name but it was something like raspberry pineapple turnover. ...read more

The deposit. I would have been nice to know that there was a $500 deposit on the room. That was a pretty "F!!!ked" up.

Great location, clean, well presented rooms.
This hotel is so far up it's own posterior that it can see it's stomach. No direct access to the pool, you have to leave the building, when you do get there you have to share it with the general public despite it being on the hotel roof.

What should be a really nice hotel is spoiled by an inherent pretentiousness which is totally unwarranted. The whole push towards hip has made a pleasant, well located hotel into a place to be seen, where the customer is made to feel second to "cool" people who are simply using the place as a hangout. The very fact that there is no direct access to the pool despite it being on the roof of the hotel and that the hotel lift goes there but has been locked out is preposterous, add to that anyone who isn't a guest can get there more easily that the guests (there's an elevator in the street) and you just get into the world of the sublime. There are signs everywhere telling you that you're in a suite, these are NOT suites, they are rooms, suites have multiple rooms, this is a single small room, quite why the hotel feels it needs to do this is unclear, presumably it feels it's customers are idiots. All in all I have no problem with the hotel or the staff, just the way the hotel treats the paying customer as second rate but the general public is given priority. ...read more

Centrally located, cool modern design, lots to do in the area. Nice staff and service but nothing above and beyond anything I've experienced.
Over priced, room did not meet my expectations, there was white duct tape on the corner of the beds to cover up torn edges and tape holding the ipod doc together, and torn curtains by the light fixture.

For a 4 star hotel this is not what I expected. Generally I like W and have stayed in the SF and SD locations and it was great. I would not stay at the Hollywood location again. The condition of the room was not 4 stars, there were drunk twenty some year olds sitting in the elevator, shoes in the hallway and just a cheap Hollywood scene. Plus their restaurant Delphine was not good at all. Delphine's ambiance and decor was the only memorable thing, the food was too salty and presentation was basic. I would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends. ...read more

The rooms are lovely and large, well set up and have everything you want and more
There is a feeling of average people not being good to stay in the hotel. Was incorrectly charged for laundry and wasn't notified on check out

Very nice hotel, everything is very fancy, housekeeping is excellent. It's a bit of a walk to any if the sites in Hollywood
