Hotel Guest Reviews of the W Austin
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.February 21, 2013

The hotel itself was very dark and poorly lite from the lobby clear up to the rooms...plus the room itself. Staff was friendly. Hotel room itself was large and nicely decorated. Sofa in the room had urine and fece stains on it which we told the staff about but they didn't seem overly concerned. When someone walked/talked in the hallway or in the room next to yours you could hear them...even when they showered! Only option we were told for parking was valet which turned out to be $29 per day. I know I bidded on a 4 star hotel so it's the luck of the draw but I hope I never 'win' this one again. ...

I wish every hotel experience, I have was equal to this one. It met every need we had. We had had a car wreak earlier in the day and were wiped out when we arrived at the hotel. The staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was spectacular - and it was.

It was
mentioned that Acura will drive you within 5 miles anytime. On my check out time, I needed to go to the UT in the morning. When asked about car, the Acura service lady was ready to book me, until the guy at he front desk said something to her quietly. She turned and said unfortunately we have no cars until noon. I guess it is related with my check out time at noon. Do not advertise this service then! This was a very humiliating experience. ...

The W is probably an excellent hotel for spendthrifts, party-seekers and guests in search of intoxicated companionship, but for families, business people and all frugal travelers, I would highly recommend (any) other lodging facilities.
At first, I thought I was a winner, but after the hotel price gouging for parking and food, I felt like a bait-and-switch victim.
