Hotel Guest Reviews of the Villa Toscana Guest House - Bed And Breakfast

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Location.
I think that they don't have a really good relationship with outside parties. They have a very specific audience and were not really well equipped to deal random strangers.

Bed and Breakfasts tend to be very hit or miss. They are owned and run by individuals who have beautiful buildings which they put a lot of time, effort and work into bringing up to how they envision it. Most of them see the "bed and breakfast" rental as simply a way to offset their expenditures. The common areas are often beautifully appointed and with a ton of effort applied to restoration but their attention to people staying there is either too cloying or too much an afterthought. The building is beautiful, the common areas are beautiful. The room we had seemed to be an afterthought. (They were not cloying). I always have to remind people that MY reviews are as much a reflection of MY tastes and views and they aren't always shared by others. We would have liked the room we saw on Priceline for decor reasons. ...read more

It was quaint and unusual for a house to still be standing in busy Chicago.
There was no parking at the villa. You had to go around the block many times to find parking on the street.

Nothing
It did not have parking, and room was not clean at check-in.

Hotel did not having parking permits for the streets and did not offer to comp anything or discount the room. Had to wait to check-in as the room was not clean at 2 pm. The lady that helped check me I was short and not very friendly. The breakfast selection was less than appealing.

Great breakfast and great value for a Cubs night game
Sharing the bathroom was different but that comes with staying at a B&B

Great location, friendly staff, and comfy room.

Would recommend to anyone looking for a B&B. Had a great experience!

Staff was nice and friendly.
Room was tiny and frankly ugly. Didn't have any of the usual comforts in the bathroom.

Would never recommend this place.

Location is perfect for all kinds of stuff in Boys Town; nice selection of items to eat in the kitchen.
Staff was not super friendly; cleanliness was not great.

Was charged more upon check-in this was very misleading because the room I chose clearly stated that is was for 3 people (not 2); hotel staff said that an additional $20 was required to accommodate a third person; felt like a bait and switch (especially when you are on a budget).
