To the east of Madison, set upon the shores of Lake Michigan lies Milwaukee. Wisconsin's biggest city, Milwaukee has changed its old-fashioned image and today features and impressive and trendy river walk, many art museums and is host to dozens of festivals celebrating the diverse heritages that exist in the state. Both Madison and Milwaukee offer fantastic sightseeing and tourism opportunities. North of the big cities is Wausau and surrounding towns. Art, history and green space State parks offer visitors to central Wisconsin an opportunity to sit back and enjoy life one moment at a time. Here tourists can visit Action City, a action filled amusement park, hike, golf, window shop at art galleries and rest up at a multitude of guest lodges, hotels, inns, and resorts.
