Utah Hotel Guides

Enter the outdoor world and experience the raw powers of nature in Utah as you climb along the red walls, sail down powder perfect slopes or hike away from civilization. Primarily a tourist destination, Utah is a fairly large state, with relatively few residents. An astonishing 88% of the population resides in Salt Lake City and the surrounding suburban areas, the rest is largely uninhabited and dedicated to National Parks, Wilderness or Recreation Areas. With outdoor activity options such as skiing, snowboarding, rafting, hiking, biking, fishing, and hunting it's no wonder that Utah is the Southwest's most popular outdoor travel destination. Once there, tourists have a variety of lodging and accommodations that range from small, rural Bed and Breakfasts to World Class ski resorts.

In the northern region of Utah, amongst the mountains, lies Salt Lake City, the hub of the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS. Salt Lake has a number of outstanding ski resorts, rental condos for extended family vacations and hotels that work well for any budget. Sitting between mountain ranges is the well-known town of Park City, the host of the Sundance Film Festival. Park City's lodging varies from scenic Mountain Resorts, to rental condos, to World Class Ski Resorts. Many of the smaller towns that surround the Salt Lake area act as gateways to destinations like Dinosaur National Park, near Ogden. The center of industry in Utah, this small town has affordable motels and is centrally located to make it easy to travel to the next amazing destination.

Utah is prime country for resort vacations, guided river rafting, and backcountry wandering thanks to the many National Parks such as Bryce Canyon, Arches, Zion, and Canyonlands. Towns like Provo and Cedar City are great for small families looking for a bit of adventure. The area South of Salt Lake is ideal country for hiking and camping. Cedar City, primarily a college town has quite the variety of Bed and Breakfasts, shopping and cafes, making it a splendid destination for couples as well. Moab to the southeast is one city designed to welcome the weary visitor. Located in the midst of many public lands, Moab has a slew of motels, hotels, campgrounds and RV parks, as well as rustic lodges. All of the available lodging in the area provide great places to rest up before the next big Utah adventure.
