Eureka! The golden state of California, the most populous state in the country, is a great paradise vacation or travel destination. Some of its largest cities contributing to the large population, include the capital Sacramento,Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego. Tourists traveling through California should expect very diverse scenery. Along the northern reaches of the state lie vast acres of tall sky-scraping Redwood trees which decorate the landscape and compete with the lofty Mount Whitney. Bordering the state to the east sit the majestic Sierra Nevada's known for Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks. Further south, the desert vividly paints the landscapes of Death Valley and Joshua Tree with brilliant color and fills tourist's minds with fantasies of wanderlust. Westward and along the coastline, travelers will be awestruck by miles of agricultural lands and the stunning, sandy and ragged coastline that outlines the western border.

California is over 770 miles long, making it a pretty big state with some pretty big attractions and plenty to do for visitors of all ages and agendas. Business travelers and entrepreneurs will enjoy staying in Central Valley and the Inland Empire (consisting of Ontario, Riverside and San Bernadino). The Inland Empire is one of the fastest growing areas of the state and both areas have exquisite dining and lodging options. Orange County and parts of Southern California are great destinations for family and leisure tourism. Orange County is filled with shopping malls and amusement parks – only a short drive away is Walt Disney's Disneyland, where families can stay and enjoy the magic of Mickey Mouse. Couples looking for a little romance and sun will find plenty of both in the Bay Areas of San Francisco and the Central Coast. Wine tours, artist communities, world- class resorts and spas offer visitors the very best accommodations. Winding along on Highway 1 towards Carmel and Big Sur, couples are likely to stumble upon breathtaking sunsets and quaint bed and breakfasts, hostels for short and extended stays and relaxing resorts and spas. Napa valley is filled with wineries that offer dinner and wine specials, tours and overnights in great all-inclusive hotels. While you may spend a lot of time traveling around to see all the sights, there are many stops on the map and almost all offer accommodations that will entice even the most reluctant traveler to stop for one day more. Camping in any of the National Parks is always an adventure. The sure-footed may wander in and around Death Valley Joshua Tree, Yosemite Valley and spend moon-lit nights under the stars wishing the weekend would never end.
