Hotel Guest Reviews of the Sheraton Iowa City
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.May 9, 2013

Unfortunately the walls were very thin so I heard doors slamming late into the night. Also the "blackout" curtains weren't installed efficiently so they didn't work as well as they do in other hotels. Self parking was $11. Otherwise, it was a very decent hotel, about what you'd expect from a Sheraton.

Only parking option is in the city garage next to hotel. Daily parking fees rack up even with Sheraton's parking discount. City charges $18 per day...$11 per day with Sheraton discount. This is a great location in Iowa City putting you in the heart of the University of Iowa campus life. Located at the pedestrian mall with many shopping and restaurant options.

There is no parking for this hotel. The woman checking me in answered the phone and wouldn't answer any of my questions on where to park or how to get in. I had to sign a waiver to be quiet after 11. But I was woke up 3 times by people yelling very loudly in the hallway between midnight and 4am. As soon as we woke up we gathered our things and left as quickly as possible. We will never stay in this hotel or the chain again. ...

Great location around shops and restaurants near the university; clean rooms and friendly staff; nice work-out room with machines and weights; large pool area with tables and large windows/natural light. Food vouchers for the restaurant or snack bar are offered as an incentive to be "green" by not having towels and sheets changed every day--nice environmental effort! The only parking is in a paid lot next door - the hotel offered discounts which helped but there is no free parking in the area. ...
