Super 8 Thurmont

The park behind the hotel was really nice, nice location to supermarket and restaurants. The hotel itself wasn't too bad, except for the front desk people, not very friendly, got agitated that we had asked for a new room and extra pillows, argued that there were no spoons in the holder, could not get a coffee or tea after 9:00 a.m.

below standard as to anything offered for breakfast. Tepid coffee, etc. Staff was chilly and sloppily dressed

Rooms were clean and the location was nice, was double charged when we checked out (noticed it 2 days later when I checked bank account) due to an "error". Called hotel and they took care of it...... Rate was more then priceline quoted rate, never did figure out why...but it was still a good rate... Would stay again - Very Good Italian restaurant called Rockys across the road, but avoid the Mountain Gate restaurant at all cost (would not feed it to my enemy) ...read more

We were very disappointed with the room: the smell, sound did not work on the TV, towels-there were 2 large, 1 hand towel and no washcloths. They provide shampoo but no conditioner, thank goodness we brought our own.

Nice hotel in nice area and easy access to highway. Walls and ceilings were thin, we could clearly hear other tenants at all hours. Continental breakfast only served till 9:00 AM, and
microwaves only in certain rooms.

The hotel is good for short stays or over night stays.

This was a great place for what we reserved it for, we were arriving at 11pm and leaving the next morning at 7am so we needed a clean, standard, simple room. That's what we got but along with free breakfast and free Wi-Fi, (which we needed to see a last minute email so it was perfect) along with an extremely friendly front desk host who gave us phone numbers to pizza places open nearby that would deliver. ...read more

We did this and they were not accommodating and in fact a bit toward the rude side. As a result, we ended up with one bed for 3 and a smelly room.
