Location and cleanliness.
It's expensive (but everything in Switzerland is).
The Hotel Bern is in a fantastic location in Central Bern for getting out and about to shop and see all the sights in the Old City (and easy walking distance from the train station, you never need a taxi at all). I had lived in Europe for a year in College (in neighboring Austria) and traveled around Switzerland but for some reason never made it to Bern. I would not have been able to afford accommodations such as Hotel Bern at the time, but i am glad i can now. I will definitely return to Bern and will stay at Hotel Bern when I do. ...
