Hotel Guest Reviews of the Viva Wyndham Tangerine Resort - All Inclusive
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.April 24, 2013

The conceirge, Miguel, was very friendly from day 1, come to find out they target American's that will be disappointed in the hotel to go and look into Lifestyles Vacation Club, which ends up being a timeshare. You do get a free day pass at lifestyles, and the resort was a good break from the VIVA, but after that GET OUT!! Our rooms were cleaned daily, but we ended up with damp towels being exchanged. You get what you pay for, the Italian restaurant was good, we wouldn't eat at the Mexican again. The buffet was OK, nothing spectacular. The bartenders were friendly, and the excursion desk was helpful in making dinner reservations for multiple nights at one time. The moment you step onto the beach you get approached by people trying to sell stuff, you tell them no they go away and say maybe later. When you try to relax on the beach, after making your way to a chair, you will get approached by more people. It is very windy there, but the wind felt great with the heat. If you do go, go with an open mind that it is not a fancy or romantic place. Our key reader on the door rarely worked, we had to get new keys a couple times, you had the slam the door to get it to stay shut, the toilet ran the whole time, the cabinet to the fridge was off the hinges, the room just needed a major makeover. If we ever go back to the Dominican we would go to a different part of the Island, like Punta Cana. ...

We booked an ocean view room for this trip, but got a "garden view" room upon arrival. The room also had water dripping from the ceiling and smelled like mold/mildew. Upon requesting what we paid for, the staff was courteous, but could not accommodate us until our second day of stay. We did get an ocean view room that met our expectations. The staff was great throughout the week of our stay. The room was kept clean and the fridge re-stocked daily with bottled water and soda. The food is decent, but the buffet got a little old after a few days. Booking reservations at the restaurants helped the last few days. Overall, this was a pleasant stay for our family and we would consider returning. ...
