Hotel Blume / El Azteca

Odd little place - we actually stayed in a room not connected with the hotel. It was across the street above another restaurant. Turned out it was a very big room with a balcony and sorta private bath - so we had no complaints there. Just a basic room, but it worked for the wife and I. Staff was friendly and it was easy to find. The breakfast spread was good - fruit, yogurt, breads, meats/cheese, cereal, juices, nice way to start the day - they even asked if we needed an earlier breakfast time since we were leaving early - very nice of them. ...read more

This is a quaint hotel in beautiful location. It is located above Saanen with a stunning view off the Alps. We had a double room with lots of space and a large deck/patio overlooking the mountains. The view made it hard to go back in the room. Beds were a bit firm for my taste, but the room was spotlessly clean and very well maintained. It isn't plush by any standard, but well worth the price, if only for the view. Wireless internet is available in the lobby, but not in the rooms. The Swiss have strict rules, including where you sit for breakfast, among other oddities. As a rule, it is better to ask first. As a Swiss friend of mine said, everything is Switzerland is forbidden, except what is mandatory. ...read more
