Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Andrews Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Very romantic with a great old atmosphere. Excellent location close to Union Square.
Our room had no view.

Would go back, great atmosphere and very friendly staff. They were great helps for sure. Close to everything you need or want in San Francisco.

It was charming and quaint and in a good area.
The beds were a bit lumpy and I didn't see any controls on the heat, so I kept the windows open.

A charming, old fashioned place to stay that is very close to Union Square shopping and within walking distance of Chinatown.

Interesting architecture made for home-like feel. Very accommodating regarding parking
Continental breakfast was just bananas and coffee. Poor TVs.

Hidden jewel tucked into an old building with charm and comfort without anything fancy. Clean, airy, and very pleasant. Very helpful to me with odd arrival and departure times.

Quaint building, dainty room. Very friendly, helpful, accommodating staff.
Difficulty finding a place to park on the street; had to pay an extra $33 for valet parking.

The staff was fantastic and more than helpful. The complimentary glass of wine around dinner was a lovely bonus and the rooms were small, but sweet and quaint. The only downside is the hotel does not offer a place to park for their guests. You do have to find a place to park on the street, which can be rather difficult. We ended up spending an extra $33 for them to valet park the car. ...read more

Charming decor, fantastic location, friendly staff, a wonderful experience in all respects

I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the Andrews Hotel. For the affordable price I was expecting a modest or even run-down hotel. On the contrary, this hotel was charming. It has been well maintained, so it's age gave it a sense of character and even elegance. The room was spacious and the bedroom decor was classy and beautifully done. The location is SUPERB. Really, this was a bargain and a wonderful place to stay. ...read more

The lobby was pretty and reminded me of what old San Francisco must have been like.
The staff was unfriendly, the carpet through out the hotel was dirty and stained.

When I reserved the hotel, I made sure the room would fit myself and my two young daughters. Upon arrival, the woman who checked me in said that the room was not meant for three people and that I would not be able to stay. When I told her that I had made sure on the website that this room could accommodate three people, she told me that their website must need to be updated, and that she would allow me to stay that night, but that if I did not upgrade to a bigger room the next day, i would not be able to stay. then she proceeded to tell me their were no bigger rooms available the next day for me to stay in. Long story short, I was not allowed to stay a second night, but was charged for the second night, then had to move to another hotel at the last minute. Thank God I found another room in another hotel that ended up being so much better and worth the move! ...read more

The location is very nice.
Very noisy during the night. I was at 6th floor in the rear, all night noise till 5am.

They have to take an action to chenge the windows of their rooms.

Continental breakfast was a nice touch.
Older, cramped and smelly.

I liked the location of the hotel, it needs updating and fans/coolers/heaters in windows. The restaurant was a big disappointment.

The resturant that was connected with the hotel had great food, and friendly staff. Not sure if it was with the hotel or not.
The staff were rude and unhelpful. the room was small. The staff didn't clean our bathroom once in the 4 days that we stayed at the hotel.

The room was small and dirty, the sheets smelled of sweat, the washroom was so small you couldn't close the door and be in the bathroom. the sink over hung the toilet. Any requests of the staff (wake up call) were greated with a eye roll and grunt. The bathroom was not cleaned once in the 4 days we stayed at the hotel. the bed was against the wall. i had to climb out of the bottom of the bed and stand on a chair to get out of bed. Everything down to the knuel posts and railings of the stairs were dirty. The cleaning staff would take breaks on the stairs. they wouldn't move to let you walk past, so you had to step over them. I didn't feel comfortable or clean the entire time we stayed there. We would have left if we could have found a new hotel. The city was full due to the Nike women's marathon. when asked if we could upgrade our room we were told "no, this is what you paid for online". They wouldn't even let us pay more for a better bigger room. the room was so hot we had to leave the window open the whole time (it didn't have a screen on it), we were woken up numberous times a time by garbage trucks in the alley below. We had a lamp over our bed that we repeatedly smacked our arms and head on because it was too low to the bed. Overall this hotel should give us our money back. It was horrible. ...read more
