Hotel Guest Reviews of the Radisson Hotel Newport Beach

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Although it's by the airport, my room was fairly quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable.
Only one negative thing which was the hot water in the shower. I couldn't figure out a way to make it warmer.

Liked the hotel and it seems to be in good condition with nice modern decor. Rooms are comfortable, staff is friendly. Only thing I couldn't figure out was hot to increase the hot water in the shower. Everything else was great.

Nicely situated and easy to get to. Quiet even thou next to the John Wayne Airport. Good breakfast.
The first room they gave us one phone didn't work, the tv picture was fuzzy until their repairman fixed it and the closet door wouldn't work. Then in early morning someone entered our room then left. They did give us a better room and comped us breakfast.

Always check that the room they give you is working. Meaning the phones, tv, closet doors etc. The staff is courteous, they made amends for accidentally giving another pass key to our room by accident(so they say). All in all pleasant. Their bell hop personal could be more attentive for loading and unloading luggage. Easy to get to from freeway. If you need to travel by airplane you are next to John Wayne Airport. Hotel is quiet even tho next to airport. Parking is easy. It was very disturbing having someone come into ones room and their excuse that they accidentally programmed another pass key to our room. Of all the years of going to hotels I never had double locked my room door to prevent this type of situation to happen. The personal made up for this somewhat but with this happening and the room in poor order and moving to another room after being situated made our stay mediocre. ...read more

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff was excellent, and very helpful.
Didn't know that the hotel had a tennis court or we would have brought rackets.

Staff was excellent, every request was professionally handled.
Rooms could use upgrades, I was on the 7th floor, business upgrade, and the rooms were very dated.

Excellent for travelers utilizing Orange County Airport, directly down the street from Airport.

Staff was very nice and pleasant, especially housekeeping...very quick.
On our last day, we witnessed a manager/supervisor (in suite) screaming and yelling at the help and ultimately fired him on the spot and unfortunately in public view (my whole family and others witnessed it). VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!

Clean front entrance but the rest could use updating.

Staff that we met were very friendly.
Our toilet, when flushed, would spray water out from the bottom of the tank. Had to use a towel to cover the spray. The bathtub drain was awful. Just 2 minutes into a shower and you were in ankle deep water, and calf deep by the end of the shower.

Room was fairly tight, not much walking space. A dog could be heard barking down the hall, and my wife, whom has cat allergies, was able to tell that a cat had been in our room in the recent past. Add all this to the bathroom troubles mentioned above, and we were very disappointed in our stay. Since we had a very busy weekend, and spent little time in the room (and had a pretty late check in the first night), we didn't feel like complaining to the front desk about the bathroom. Besides, by the time we noticed the problems in the bathroom in the morning, we had no time to spare as we had to get to a wedding. ...read more

The appearance of the hotel is nice, but there are many hidden problems. Plumbing, tv, wifi, unresponsive staff.
Plumbing, all drains back up and do not drain properly. (stayed in three different rooms on three floors, all had same plumbing problems. TV, unresponsive and freezes for up to 15 minutes. Wifi, free, but unable to connect due to horrible outdated system.

Plumbing problems, horrible wifi setup that I never could connect to, airplane noise, pool and jacuzzi are barely heated, tv system freezes and becomes unresponsive (called front desk, nobody ever showed up), listed as Newport Beach but is really Irvine right across the street from John Wayne runway. Nice appearance and seemed clean, but many hidden problems. Restaurant is just so-so. Business center is also outdated, expensive (most hotels offer this free) and I ended up having to go to Staples next door to do what I needed. Will never stay again. ...read more

Newly renovated lobby and rooms.
No porters. No bell carts available. No valet parking. Room not ready at check in. NOT a 3 1/2 star hotel!

Don't expect 4 star service here. You won't get it. Not even 3 star. The staff is unavailable for bag service with limited bell carts and parking is on your own. I've seen better amenities at lesser ranked hotels. Because of its proximity to the airport this hotel seems more suited to the commuter who's used to discount lodging. (this is not, however, discounted)
